We have been bringing you coverage of our coverage of Arch Enemy, Huntress and Starkill and now we present to you our coverage of …. Kreator. WOW! What a night it was to see all these great metal bands take the stage at the Regency Ballroom but especially to see the return of German thrash metal band, Kreator. It seemed everywhere I turned fans were wearing their Kreator shirts and telling stories of the times they saw them last or favorite albums, etc.

The birthplace of thrash metal was the perfect setting for the return of Kreator and the crowd was fueled and ready to go. From the second Kreator hit the stage, the crowd parted and an intense mosh pit opened up and seemed to span the length of the ballroom! It was fierce and with every bad ass thrash song Kreator played, the energy increased and the mosh pit intensified to insurmountable levels. It brought me back to my vivid memories of catching local thrash bands perform at The Stone in SF long ago. I am sure many of those same crowdgoers were there in attendance for Kreator.

Kreator played a full co-headlining set and it was great to hear them perform all the fan favorites as the crowd banged their heads in solid agreement of each song played. The room was completely filled with adrenaline as the circle put would grow with each song. Check out the photos from our Rockin Ryan of their set:

If you get the chance, make sure to catch Kreator out on tour, they are not to be missed. Check the dates below and get yourself to a show!

havok

Denver heavy thrashers Havok have been busy touring overseas which took them all over Europe. They are gearing up for their North American “Symmetry in Black” Tour featuring HAVOK w/ CROWBAR, REVOCATION, FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY, ARMED FOR APOCALYPSE. Drummer Pete Webber will be sitting out select dates of the tour due to a family emergency and Wretched’s Marshall Wieczorek will be filling in temporarily.

Pete comments: As some of you may have heard, my mother was in a tragic accident and is in very serious condition in the ICU in Boston. This unfortunately means I will have to miss out on at least a portion of our future shows. I must be by mom and family’s side during these difficult times…Our pal Marshall from WRETCHED will be filling in on my duties. He is a good friend of ours and a great drummer! I know he will do an awesome job in my absence! I hope everyone understands and keeps my mom in their positive thoughts and prayers. It helps in a big way to have the support! I will return as soon as I can to my bros in HAVOK and wish them all the best on this next run!

We send our wishes for a full recovery for Pete’s mom and we will keep her in our thoughts and prayers. We know that everyone will welcome Marshall as he fills in on the dates and we look forward to Pete’s return.

After the Symmetry In Black Tour, you can expect to find Havok heading right back out. This time for their headlining tour in Mexico, the Until The Thrash Takes Us Tour. David Sanchez (lead vocals / guitars) comments: Earlier this year was our first trip to Mexico and we liked it so much we’re coming back again this fall! We’re looking forward to seeing our maniacal fans south of the border this October. Mexico, prepare for attack...”

Every time I see Miss May I, I get more and more impressed with their high energy powerful sets. This past weekend as we covered the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival in Mountain View at the Shoreline Amphitheater. We were at the Coldcock American Herbal Whiskey Stage promptly at 3:55 so we wouldn’t miss a second of Miss May I‘s set.

Sure enough, they came out bustling with energy and had complete control over the crowd, infusing them with adrenaline. Everyone seem to be off their feet jumping, headbanging or with their fists in the air. It was an intense set and they played their fresh new take of old school metal that has longtime metal fans and new ones in acceptance. They have a very dedicated fan base which seems to span generations. Their new music has such a true old school metal sound but yet they have successfully infused their own new style and created music that everyone loves!

Check out the photos by our Rockin Ryan of their set:

Earlier this year, they released Rise of the Lion and you can pick it up on iTunes here. The new album really shows their progression and growth as a band. They are making the music that they want and their passion shows in it. WARBRINGER1

WARBRINGER

Los Angeles based heavy Metal band, WARBRINGER have announced the release date for their release of their next masterpiece, IV: Empires Collapse. They band has been locked away for the past few months  in The Omen Room studio with producer Steve Evetts (Dillinger Escape Plan, Sepultura, Symphony X).  The release date is set for October 15th through Century Media Records.

What is exciting about this album is that each of the five members brought something for the rest of the group to work on and together they challenged themselves and their abilities to combine their talents and create a combined work of art.  Carlos Cruz, drummer explained more about the recording process, “Musically, all five of us brought something for the rest of the group to work off of and we were all a part of chiseling away at the ideas”. Having five band members with eclectic tastes in music from Crust Punk to Progressive music and everything in between brought about new musical directions for the material.”

Another exciting thing about this record making process is that WARBRINGER has been documenting the process and capturing it all on film to share with their fans via their social media sites, allowing viewers to get an in-depth peak into the studios. You can check out their latest post here:

This weeekend WARBRINGER is off to play a couple shows in Thailand, China and Taiwan.  Then it is back to finish up the album.  Immediately after the release of IV: Empires Collapse they will embark on a tour in support of legendary OVERKILL and KREATOR.  Tour dates can be found on their website as well as below in our Information section. These will be incredible high energy shows that you don’t want to miss.
