Sunday nights have really become the best night for great concerts and last night was definitely one of the finest nights in music. Northern California was treated to a double dose of heavy metal with legendary Judas Priest and the fun Steel Panther. We arrived at the City National Civic early to find a great line of dedicated fans waiting for the show.
I was really excited to see that Steel Panther was opening for Judas Priest on this tour. We have had the great pleasure of seeing them over half a dozen times and they still hold top honors for the funnest concert ever attended. Before the show we were able to interview Michael Starr and Lexxi Foxx and we will be bringing that hilarious interview to you later this week. Steel Panther put on an awesome set that fired up the crowd and insured that everyone was having a great time. Even those that were not familiar with Steel Panther and might have at first found their humor which some may consider “off color” (I find welcoming and hilarious!!) soon dismissed their shocked looks on their faces, lighted up and enjoyed the concert. They definitely won over the crowd and got everyone in true metal form for Judas Priest. Check out a sneak peek of photos from our Rockin Ryan of their set:

After Steel Panther, their was an intermission and when the lights came on, you could finally see how packed the venue was! It definitely looked like a sold out or nearly sold out show. I was so excited to finally see Judas Priest live! This was the first time I was going to see Judas Priest since 32 years ago on November 20th, 1982 my parents banned me from attending the show at the Cow Palace because they wouldn’t let us 14 year old girls head out by ourselves to the show! It was funny to hear the guys next to us who were talking about that very same show. My husband even went to it and told me how it still is one of his favorite concerts of his life.
The lights dimmed and the crowd roared with excitement as the Judas Priest banner dropped and they came out and tore up the place. They started right off with Dragonaut and you could just feel the energy travel through the venue. It was intense and spectacular and clearly deserves to be on my list of top concerts. I was absolutely mesmerized as I watched Rob maneuver the stage as the Metal God that he is. It was humbling to be there and watch the man who truly shaped so many lives and became the foundation of our love of metal. What a night! The set list was filled with favorites as well as new ones. Some of the highlights for me were definitely, Metal Gods, Halls of Valhalla, Love Bites,Turbo Lover, Hell Bent for Leather, and Breaking the Law. To be honest, the entire night was one fantastic highlight! Check out the photos from our Rockin Ryan of their set:

We will be bringing you more coverage of each set but wanted to at least give you a quick recap of the night. Stay tuned for more Judas Priest and Steel Panther to feed your addiction! There is still another week left of the US Tour and I hope you get a chance to see it. Make sure to visit all their social media sites and stay up to date on their latest news.
Hold on tight!! Get ready for a ball busting hilarious video by Steel Panther that will leave all men cringing and safely holding their private parts! This time it is for their song Pussywhipped which is off their new album All You Can Eat. The album was released earliler this year and everyone is still talking about it. It has everything you could want in rock and metal from anthemic rock songs, arena size ballads, blazing guitars, great harmonies, power house drums, sexy bass lines and those 80s style vocals that we can’t get enough of. There are some bad ass guitar solos, smokin riffs, catchy choruses, I just can’t tell you how epic this album will be. The songs are fun and infectious and you can’t help but love them. Definitely a party album for any night of the week. If they had a panty meter for this album, it would be a full on soaking wet one for this new album! We will have to watch out for the next baby boom that will be coming 9 months after this release! It is a hot one! So get ready and watch Pussywhipped:

We have all been waiting anxiously for the new album All You Can Eat by Steel Panther and the time is almost among us! Only SIX more days to go!!! Well, as I told you last week about my secret… I got to hear the entire new album and have to say one thing…….. HOLY BALLS! THIS ALBUM IS FUCKING AWESOME!!
It starts right off with Pussywhipped that has an acoustic flamenco style intro that will have all the ladies heating up and then takes you on a ride into a heavier rock/metal song, reminiscent of the great Iron Maiden. You are going to love this track and it has some dirty/distorted guitars that start the album off with a bang.
Next up is a favorite for all, Party Like Tomorrow is the End of the World. That was the first single we were all treated to and it fucking rocks. What better way to spend the last night on Earth than with sex, drugs, rock and roll Steel Panther style. Their video for the song is one of my favorites. Yes, they are campy and politically incorrect, but they can melt your face and rock you hard as they have the musical talent to back it all up.
You have a couple ballads on this album, like Bukkake Tears. It is complete with melodic chorus, smokin guitar solos, and Michael’s vocals truly shine through on this one. Another ballad is The Burden of Being Wonderful. This song is pure larger than life, another arena style ballad that we crave from them. You can’t help but imagine yourself back in the 80′s, partying at the stadium enjoying the loud music, having fun and living the carefree life and wishing you could be like the rockstars on center stage.
Another favorite on this album is Ten Strikes You’re Out and absolutely rocks. It is an in your face anthem style, fist in the air song. It has some of the best lyrics on the entire album and will have you singing along in no time. Michael delivers his signature 80’s style vocals that we all love. Satchel features his bad ass guitar riffs on this one. Definitely a favorite song of mine.
She’s On The Rag is probably the most varied song off the album where they take you to an edgier style with guitars and Michael’s vocals project a heaviness to this song that you can’t help but be drawn to. It is darker yet complete with a catchy chorus.
If I Was the King is by far my favorite song. This song reminds me of old style Halen/Poison and is just a FUN song. It includes the Death to All but Metal guitar lick and Michael signature scream. You will find yourself going back again and again to this song.
The entire album sounds so fucking crisp and clean. The guitars are full on ROCK and METAL, from fast shred to fierce guitar riffs, Satchel takes you on a wild ride with his Kramer. His solos have you drooling. Lexxi Foxxx pounds out some slamming bass as you can already picture him whipping his hair and primping in the mirror. Stix Zadina is a fierce madman on the drums and is smoldering on his double bass. Michael’s vocals are on target with every song.
What is funny, is that if you were not a fan of Steel Panther due it’s lyrical content only….Let me tell you: If you spoke a different language and didn’t understand any of the words, there would be no way you can deny that they have produced a 5 STAR FULL ON ROCK/METAL ALBUM that will satisfy your every need. Steel Panther has been busy with non stop touring and they were ranked at our Number 2 SPOT for Countdown of 14 Bands That Will Rule in 2014! There is no letting up with these crazy rockers! Some may only know Steel Panther as a parody band personifying the glam/metal lifestyles of the ’80s but you may know that they are DAMN talented musicians.
Michael Starr on Vocals has one of the best vocal ranges and his high notes will have you thinking you are on the Sunset Strip in 1985. Lexxi Foxxx pounds out some slamming bass as he whips his hair and primps in the mirror. Satchel on guitar embodies a true Guitar God, with the moves, stage presence and he KICKS ASS on the guitar. His solo will have you drooling. Stix Zadina is a fierce madman on the drums and is smoldering on his double bass.

Today is not only Christmas Eve but we are on Day 11 of 12 Days of Guitarists! Today we feature Satchel of Steel Panther. Just yesterday, Steel Panther ranked in at the Number 2 Spot for bands to rule 2014 and today is Satchel‘s day.
You might be surprised to find a guitarist from a so called “parody band” on the list, but Satchel has the full package! He not only shreds on his guitar and has incredible solos, but also one of the best stage presences EVER! Yes, it may be, because he personifies all the great ’80 rockers/metal heads into his own style but nonetheless, he is a BAD ASS and DAMN FUN to watch.
Check out Satchel in the tribute video that Rockin Ryan put together which includes footage and photos from their San Francisco show at the Regency Ballroom earlier this year.
Satchel is on tour with Steel Panther and next year they are releasing their highly anticipated new album, All You Can Eat. Make sure to catch him out on their tour and get ready for a fun night! Their new single, Party Like Tomorrow is the End of the World has a crazy ass video that you have to check out.
