We are getting really close to the release of the new CD, Golden from blues rockers Delta Rose. This is one album that is well worth the wait! This past year it seemed that many things were said about Rock n Roll, from it being dead, or no new bands, etc. Well you can forget about all that! Rock n Roll is alive and thriving and when you take a listen to the new album from Delta Rose, you will strongly agree with me. They have such a welcoming sound that you just can’t wait to tell all your friends about them.

Earlier this year, Delta Rose had the great honors of opening for Guns n Roses  at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, NV. They delivered a top notch set and have everyone leaving the venue, knowing who Delta Rose is! They always perform a kick ass set and Delta Rose is one of the best live bands out there. They are such a young band but have showmanship that is well beyond their years. While many young bands are out there creating music that sounds as if it is a carbon copy of eachother, Delta Rose is creating their own style of music. It is pure blues and rock n roll and it is addictive.

From the studio to the band, there is quite an amazing amount of talent put into this stellar album. The album was recorded at the legendary NRG Studios, mixed by Steve Hardy (Blue October, Vertical Horizon, Joe Bonamassa, and many more), mastered by iconic Howie Weinberg (Nirvana, Ramones, Pantera, and many, many more). The album is produced by Bill Schleifer and Isaac Hasson. It truly is a work of art and we are even treated to Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Dizzy Reed (Guns n Roses) who plays keyboards on their song 10 Long Years.

The album is filled with smoking guitar solos, cool group chants, vibrant blues licks, solid drumming, infectious basslines and the most captivating and edgy yet sweet as honey vocals you will ever hear.  Delta Rose’s new album has definitely polished and perfected true rock and roll.

Rockers Greek Fire are on Top of The World with their song featured in Disney’s Big Heroes 6

When is the last time you heard a song that really left you with chills or a feel good feeling deep in your soul leaving you with butterflies in your stomach and hope in your heart? Well, I do because I remember the first time I heard Top of the World from Greek Fire, that is exactly how I felt.  It was amazing and still is every time I hear it. The song is on their Lost EP which was released earlier this year but it has been gaining in popularity as it is currently featured in Disney’s Big Heroes 6 film. I know my seven year old has been begging me to take him to see the movie and I can’t wait! I am so glad to see Greek Fire get the attention they so well deserve. The track not only soaring guitars, emotionally driven lyrics but a chorus that makes you feel invincible. Having the track picked up by Disney has not only put the spotlight on this great band, but the song is one that will lift the hearts of many. It is truly a beautiful song that bridges a connection to listener.

‘Formed in 2008, Greek Fire is most known for consisting of members from Story of the Year(Philip Sneed better known as “Moon” on vocals and Ryan Phillips on guitar) and Maybe Today,(Johnny Venus on drums and Mark Joseph Roth on bass).  In 2012, the band, their families and fans were devastated with their Johnny Venus’ leukemia diagnosis and thankfully he is currently in remission, making their current success that much sweeter for the team.’

‘This December, Greek Fire will play three shows with Story of the Year and The F!*K Off and Dies. The string of shows is appropriately titled, “Family Night” as all three bands feature members of Story of the Year. Matt Nathanson recently made a trip to Peru with the Starkey Hearing Foundation on a mission to fit people with free hearing aids. As Matt says,

” i’ve been trying to write a short piece
about my experience for weeks now.
it’s been really hard. words kinda fail it.
if i didn’t have my hearing, i wouldn’t have music.
and if i didn’t have music, i definitely wouldn’t have
survived my childhood. listening to albums and
seeing bands and being connected to songs was
EVERYTHING to me. it still is. it makes me feel not
alone. it helps me transcend my broken brain.
in fact, the only reason i play music is because i
love it so much. i couldn’t stay on the sidelines,
i HAVE to be a part of it.

Going to peru was super heavy.
the people were incredible.
to be in service to them, to assist in
connecting them to their kids laughter,
to their parents voices, to MUSIC!…
it was completely humbling.
and overwhelming.
i felt love and gratitude towards other human
beings on a level i’ve never experienced.

so i’m glad we shot footage and made a video while
we were there. it does a WAY better job explaining
than i ever could.” 

Matt released a video for his song, Headphones featuring LoLo and it includes the footage from his trip to Peru. Pop punks Me Vs. Hero have released a music video for their song, Hang In which is off of their new album, I’m Completely Fine which was release in September and you can pick it up on iTunes here. “This songs means a lot to us” explains Thompson of the new track “It’s literally about hanging in there when times get bad. At one point when we wrote this record there was a three month period where I was homeless. I had three big bags for all my stuff and had no idea where I was sleeping most nights. The song is an accurate depiction of his life at that point. It’s something that, if you go through, you will make sure never happens again.”  Check out the video here:

The song is the perfect track to get you through those challenges and struggles which we face and think that we can never overcome. Sometimes looking back at all the things you have been through, gives you right amount of strength to get over the next hurdle. Me Vs. It has been seven years since the brutal murder of Sophie Lancaster who was killed simply because she looked different in someone else’s eyes. A beautiful young girl who was murdered simply because she was a follower of a different culture, had a different look. From that senseless attack, what else can someone do except try to bring light to what was not an isolated incident and help others. The Sophie Lancaster Foundation was created by her mother as a lasting legacy to her daughter and she has dedicated her life to changing attitudes and to make it a safer place for alternative subcultures.

Billy Idol is set to release his new album, “Kings & Queens of the Underground” on October 21st through Billy’s own record label, BFI. Seeking Valor from Pennsylvania have released a beautiful touching video for their song, So Far Gone. The song was featured on Artist Direct on September 30th to wrap up Suicide Awareness month. The video is a touching commentary on the space left when a loved one takes his or her own life, and how friends and family must work together to move forward. British DJ/producer Gareth Emery has released a video for his new single, Dynamite which features Christina Novelli. Dynamite is the third single from his album, Drive, exclusively on Beatport.
