BILLY

The book is bold, searingly candid and written by Billy himself. Billy recounts his life story from his transient childhood to becoming a punk pioneer and from being one of MTV’s first megastars and revealing never before told tales of the culture, sex, drugs and rock and roll that colored Idol’s experience through fame.

Buckcherry have just released their new video for their song, Say Fuck It which is off their recently released EP, which is titled…. FUCK.  You may be wondering about the title but there is much more to the four letter word title. This is a tribute to the word ‘fuck’… Over the years, we’ve been told so many times to get away from the honesty that makes this band special. It’s a part of who I am. It’s not about the profanity itself; it’s about using it cleverly.” – Josh Todd posted on their Facebook page.

 Check out the video here:

This is probably the best cover of Icona Pop’s song, I Love It, done perfectly in Buckcherry fashion!! I love it!! It is true Buckcherry with the signature vocals of Josh, swirling guitars, high energy and rock attitude. I can’t wait for the new album!

We are excited to see that Buckcherry are returning to this year’s Monster Energy Aftershock in Sacramento on September 14th, they will be performing on Sunday at 3:30 on the Monster Stage South. They will also be performing on this year’s lineup for Rockstar Uproar Festival. More details on Uproar Festival here. We just caught them earlier this year when they came to the Heritage Theater in Campbell, CA. You can check out our full coverage of their Campbell, California show here.

In case you missed it, check out our quick chat with Stevie D. at last year’s Aftershock Festival:

Buckcherry have just a little less than two weeks away from the release of their new EP which is titled…. FUCK. FUCK is set for an August 19th release!

One thing is for sure, I am really looking forward to this EP. Buckcherry have always made the music that they wanted to and have maintained to keep the honesty in their music. So I applaud them again for continuing to keep themselves grounded and making great music!  Pre-orders for the new EP are available now by visiting here: iTunes Pre-Order.

bigbad

How about falling in love with a band from it’s start and getting to witness the growth with their music? Now, is the time where you can do just that. I want to introduce you to the new band Bigbadwolf from Arizona. They have just released their new single, Flavors which is available on iTunes here. From the first time I heard it, I loved it. This indie rock band is definitely going to be garnering a lot of attention, especially with this being their first song. It just makes you really attentive and excited for what is next.

Their style of indie rock infused with alternative electronic will grab a hold of you right away. They remind me of early Muse. The vocals are seductive as they dance within the beat and create an infectious tempo.  They also have a well produced creative video for the song. Check it out here:

So make sure to pick up the single, visit their social media sites to stay up to date on their latest news and stay tuned for new music!

RonnieFicarro

With the departure of Ronnie Ficarro of Falling in Reverse and Max Green‘s introduction as the new bassist, it just means we get to hear new music by Ronnie! Ronnie wasted no time in giving us all a taste of his solo project as he released an amazing new track. Reminds me of my favorite quote:

Do not go where the path may lead,

go instead where there is no path

and leave a trail” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

Ronnie Ficarro released his song, Runaway and it is amazing! It has a very punk pop feel with a rock edge. Vocals are engaging, complete with emotionally driven lyrics and is a very catchy tune. It really leaves me begging for more new music by Mr. Ficarro! The song really highlights the talent of Ronnie and his stellar songwriting skills. Some of my favorite lyrics of the song are:

“Hoping and I’m praying I’ll face my fears

Find what I’ve been looking for all these years”

Check out the song here on Spotify:

or you can check it out here:

Now that we got you hooked, head over to iTunes and pick it up and add it to your daily playlist! We really are excited to see what Ronnie has in store for us and hope it brings a complete album. For now, make sure to visit his social media sites so you can stay up to date on his latest news. We will see if we can bring you an interview with Ronnie to discuss his new music.

Dellacoma

Earlier this year, I told you about an awesome band that I fell in love with from Australia, Sunset Riot. You can read that post here.  They really caught my eye and couldn’t wait to hear more from them. Of course, I learned about them a little too late since they did disband later in the year.

I was excited to hear that singer Dellacoma Rio was still pursing his passion for music in the aftermath of Sunset Riot’s disbanding. Dellacoma has such an amazingly unique voice that draws you in to his musical world.  Dellacoma has recently released his lyric video for his debut single, “Dead Will Rise” and you can check it out here:

Dellacoma explains more about the song, “Dead Will Rise”,  “The song is pretty much an anthem for those who feel like they’ve been written off. Coming off the back of Sunset Riots breakup I felt like a lot of people were expecting that my career was finished musically, that I was effectively dead as an artist. I guess this is my statement to say “I’m still here, still alive and more determined than ever”

The song should be hitting USA radio and will be available soon for download on Itunes.  Dellacoma tells us, “It was recorded at Secret Sound Studios in Melbourne Australia with producer/engineer Peter Dacy and was co-written with Voya (guitarist for the band ‘Rattlesnake’). It features Dean Williams on lead, rhythm and bass guitars as well as backing vocals and Alejandro Adams on drums and percussion.”
We are also featuring Dellacoma in our upcoming Holiday Article and are pleased to give you first peak at his answers here:
* * * * * * * *

Music Junkie Press: What is the oddest gift you have ever received?

Dellacoma: Probably a remote control car with the Sunset Riot logo painted on the bonnet of the car

Music Junkie Press:  What is your favorite Holiday Food Item?

Dellacoma:  this is a toughy…I am a sucker for Christmas pudding tho and prawns are always a fav!

Music Junkie Press:   What is your favorite Holiday family tradition that you still do today?

Dellacoma:  Fruit salad for breakfast on New Years day

Music Junkie Press:  Do you have a favorite holiday movie or song?

Dellacoma: Love Actually, hands down! I love that movie 🙂

Music Junkie Press:  Do you have a specific memory of a certain ornament or holiday decoration?

Dellacoma: I used to do little hand drawn cartoons of each year when I was a kid and i noticed recently that my mum still puts them up every year. That was pretty special and made me feel included even tho I live so far away

We will continue to keep you updated on Dellacoma Rio’s music. For now make sure to visit his social media sites and check out his new website and pick up some cool merch!

Earlier this year, I told you about a great rock band from San Francisco, The Jaded.  These guys bring true rock and roll and wrap it in everything from funk, blues and an old school sound that just has you wanting more.

They have been hard at work recording several singles and have released the first one. “Wafflebox (My Girl)” is out now and you can get it on Itunes.  This song is awesome!

It has a great bluesy intro and then kicks into high gear with Jimmy Steal on vocals, he reminds me of a crisper sounding young David Lee Roth.  It has a great catchy chorus and just has you moving in seconds. I love the energy that this song gives off and the backing vocals are spot on.  Later in the song, there is a great vocals buildup that is fun and cheeky.   This local band has definitely honed in on their craft of rock and roll and this song, might be just the one to take them to new heights.

We had the chance to listen to two more of their new singles and you are going to love them! You can really tell that these guys have been working hard at perfecting their talents and did an incredible job that we can’t wait for you to hear.

First is “Boomerang” that starts off with a nice drum intro and a clean rise that leads into sweet guitar riffs and the vocals come on strong. For a second, it has you thinking about what decade you are in because this is good old fashioned ROCK n ROLL, which I think is what we need more of  today.  It has a really catchy chorus, fun lyrics and I love it’s carefree attitude. Again, I really get the vibe and feel of a young David Lee Roth or Jimmy is channeling his ’80s rocker spirit!

Next up we got to hear, “Infatuation” that has a perfect acoustic intro leading into an arena style rock ballad that actually would span decades. You can feel everything from ‘50s sock hop pop, ‘70s laid back style to ‘80s with the lighter in the air to the 90’s shoegazer without a care –  and this is the NOW.  The singer has some great powerful vocals and a great vocal range in his transitions. It has smooth melodic tones and a nice guitar, bass and drum breakdown where you can really enjoy Downey’s slide playing as well as his backing vocals.

We look forward to hearing more of the new singles and will keep you updated as they come out! For now, make sure to head over to Itunes and pick up “Wafflebox (My Girl)” and if you don’t have it already, pick up/download their CD Juke. That album has some great songs and I love “Broken Records” and “Honeybear” (this song has such a great Red Hot Chili Pepper vibe which is spectacular).

The Jaded is Downey Orrick on Lead Guitar/Background Vocals,  Elliott Starno – Drums and Percussion, Jimmy Steal (aka Sergio) on Lead Vocals/Rhythm Guitar and Matt Notter – Bass Guitar.

You can check out an interview that we did with The Jaded back in April when they performed at The Phoenix Theater in Petaluma, CA as well as some photos.
