Upon a Burning Body unleashes a heavy dose of metal out on The Moving On Tour

We made it out to San Francisco on Sunday night for The Moving On Tour as it made a stop at the Regency Ballroom. We were excited to see Upon A Burning Body perform and knew they were going to be fierce. We have been following them since seeing them play at one of the side stages out on Mayhem 2012. It was awesome to see them grown in the short amount of time and once again they killed it at Mayhem earlier this year.

Their set at the Regency was brutal as they unleashed a heavy dose of metal to the immersed crowd. The crowd went wild as they created a circle pit that extended the length of the venue. It was awesome as the energy of the crowd mirrored the band on the stage. When they perform, they give 150% percent of themselves and hold nothing back. Korn released their single, Hater which is off their forthcoming album, The Paradigm Shift: World Tour Edition and has been garnering a lot of great attention and praise.   You can pick up The Paradigm Shift on iTunes here.The song is currently in the Top 15 on the Active Rock Chart. Korn had invited fans to help in the making of the video by sharing their story of dealing with a bully. The video which was directed by Yarvo Productions was released today and it is awesome, check it out:

“Almost everyone has felt bullied, pressured and beat down in their life by their haters,” says Jonathan Davis.  “This video helps to give a public voice to some of the challenges real people have faced, and reminds us all that self-harm and suicide.”

Mushroomhead releases new video for Out of My Mind and announce co-headline tour

 

One of our top highlights of this year’s Rockstar Mayhem Fest was seeing the amazing sets by Mushroomhead. They deliver an energetic filled, dynamic set every time. Slipknot announce date for new album .5: The Gray Chapter and tour dates with Korn and King 810

Slipknot have just released their new song and video for The Negative One. This is the first taste of music from the band in six years. We are all anticipating the new album and we finally  have something to check out. It is a great heavy track and is pure Slipknot. Check out the video here:

KORN invite fans to star in the upcoming video for their new song, Hater

Korn released their single, Hater which is off their forthcoming album, The Paradigm Shift: World Tour Edition and has been garnering a lot of great attention and praise. The song is currently in the Top 15 on the Active Rock Chart. Korn are inviting fans to help in the making of the video and they may even star in the video by sharing their story of dealing with a bully.

The band will use some of the submissions in their upcoming video for “Hater.”

Here are the guidelines for your chance to be featured in an upcoming video:

Film yourself telling a story about a time you were the victim of bullying, abuse, or hatred and how it affected you. Answer the following questions in your video:

• What did the bully, abuser, or hater do?  List off the things they said or did.
• How did it make you feel?  List off some of the thoughts and feelings going through your head.  Say “I felt…(fill in the blank)”

Here are some things to keep in mind when submitting the video:

• Please keep the stories short.
• Restate the question into your answer.
• Sound is key, so please turn off air conditioning, the television, any music, fans, just your voice as clean as possible
• Please hide any logos (other than KORN’s logo)
• Please don’t use any names of people involved.
• If using a phone, please shoot in landscape mode.

The battle is on, as the Ernie Ball Battle Of The Bands returns to the Rockstar Energy UPROAR Festival for a fourth consecutive year in 2014. The annual competition is underway now for most dates on the touring rock music and lifestyle festival, and runs through September 12 (deadlines vary by market). Bands can enter the Ernie Ball Battle Of The Bands—and fans can vote for their favorite band—at http://uproar.battleofthebands.com. Bands will be chosen one week prior to the venue they’ve selected to play.

Unsigned bands can enter to win a chance to play live on the Festival Stage at the Rockstar Energy UPROAR Festival in their market this August and September. Finalists will compete for the grand prize–valued at over $15,000–which includes a coveted spot on the 2015 Rockstar Energy UPROAR Festival, the opportunity to record an EP with legendary producer/mixer Jay Baumgardner at NRG Recording Studios in Hollywood, CA, a Rockford Fosgate Prize Pack, Ernie Ball Guitar String Endorsement, Music Man Instruments, and more (see below for full prize listing).

Local 2014 Ernie Ball Battle Of The Bands winners will have the chance to play in one of nearly two dozen UPROAR markets, including newly announced dates in Pittsburgh, PA, Albuquerque, NM, Irvine, CA and more.

To enter the Rockstar Energy UPROAR Festival Ernie Ball Battle Of The Bands, bands must complete a short informational profile and upload at least one MP3 to the Battle Of The Bandswebsite (http://uproar.battleofthebands.com). Entrants should use the Band Promotional Toolkit provided in their profile after logging in to promote their entry on the web and drive fans to vote. Fans can also register at http://uproar.battleofthebands.com to become an official contest judge.

The top 100 Buzz Rated bands in each participating tour market will be judged by a panel of industry professionals and UPROAR artists. This panel will choose the winner for each local U.S. tour market. Winners for each local market will be announced two weeks before that tour date. The winner in each city will perform in the opening slot on the Festival Stage at the 2014 Rockstar Energy UPROAR Festival. Each tour market’s winning band will be eligible to compete for the grand prize. 2013 Ernie Ball Battle Of The Bands winner Sons Of Revelry will be on the road with the Rockstar Energy UPROAR Festival throughout the five-week trek. The Brantford, Ontario quartet—Scottish expat Toby Black (lead vocals/lead guitar), Corey Brouwer (backing vocals/rhythm guitar), Arron Rayner (bass), and Sean Boyle (drums)—have the kind of cohesiveness, camaraderie and chops that other bands would kill for. The band recently recorded a pair of EPs in the span of a month – one with world renowned producer Jay Baumgardner (Sevendust, Papa Roach, Three Days Grace, Godsmack) and the other with Canadian producer Brian Moncarz (Silverstein, Bleeker Ridge, The Reason) – and will release them as a double EP just in time for the 2014 Rockstar Energy UPROAR Festival. Mushroomhead is definitely a highlight of Rockstar Energy Mayhem Fest

This past weekend, we made it out to the Rockstar Mayhem Fest  as it made it’s stop at the Shoreline Amphitheater on July 6th. We are looking forward to telling you about all the great sets but we wanted to tell you about one of the highlights of the Festival. We were excited to see that this band lives up to and exceeds anyone’s expectations with their energy filled dynamic set. The highlighted band we are talking about is none other than the great Mushroomhead.

They came out onto the Coldcock American Herbal Whiskey stage to a packed crowd that extended all the way to the booths. The energy of the crowd was intense and once Mushroomhead began to play, the energy was raised ten fold! It was unreal and amazing. These guys deliver a non-stop adrenaline filled set that is 100% entertaining on all levels. They sounded on point the whole show and their stage presences are captivating and well deserving of a main stage. These guys should be placed on the main stage because that is exactly where they belong in the spotlight.

Another highlight of their set was when Jackie LaPonza of Unsaid Fate came out to sing with them. She fired up the crowd even more and you didn’t want the music to stop. One thing I really wanted was a longer set from them because I wished they would have played all day! Check out the photographs by our Rockin Ryan of their set here:

It is awesome to see this influential industrial metal band on this year’s lineup for Rockstar Mayhem Fest. Mushroomhead recently released its seventh studio album “The Righteous & The Butterfly” May 13th through Megaforce Records. The album has been receiving great praise and debuted at #20 on the Billboard Top 200 and the #1 Spot on Billboard’s Hard Rock Chart. The album delivers 14 tracks that are as diverse as the band, ranging from songs about survival and balance to emotionally charged anthems and even a riff heavy cover of Adele’s #1 Hit, Rumor Has It. The album is definitely one to pick up!
