Sara Skinner

What better way to start off 2014 than with my new favorite Sara Skinner song.  Sara has one of the most amazing voices that truly embraces your soul. Truly the work of an angel.  From the first time I heard her, that is the only way I could ever describe her. Sara first became well known by her spectacular cover songs on her Youtube channel. She then continued to gain attention and praise for her original work. Her song, “Break” truly had everyone taking a second listen to this artist. Well, here she is again, giving us an amazing new song to fall in love with.

Today, she released her new original song, “Always Storming” and it is BRILLIANT! Sara‘s voice not only has a smooth as silk feel but creates a mysterious edge to her sound. She always leaves you wanting to hear more from her! Check out her new song here:

Sara is not only a spectacular singer but she is also a highly talented writer. I will share with you some of my favorite lyrics from her “Always Storming” song:

No matter what I say, aint nobody listening

Been thinking too much,

nothing makes sense and

Everybody says that it rains in the beginning,

but it’s always storming”

We had the opportunity to interview Sara when we caught her out on tour earlier this year with Hinder and you can check out that interview here:

Make sure to head over to her social media sites and stay up to date on her latest news.  This is one artist that you will be hearing a lot of in 2014. We will try and bring you a new interview with the amazing Sara Skinner!

Crashing Broadway

Summertime for me always reminds me of long days filled with great new music. It is a time to enjoy life and take the time to find new bands whether they be at festivals or nightclubs, it is the time to explore. I have a band for you straight from Tupelo, MS that I have been enjoying and you need to know about them. They are Crashing Broadway and they have a sound that blends rock with alternative and just the right amount of pop. They will have you dancing one minute as you raise your fists in the next. Together they bring energy driven songs that awaken your senses, whether it be with their catchy melody, thought provoking lyrics or powerful vocals. They have what you have been waiting for.

We had a chance to interview their guitarist, Tee Jay Timms and we are pleased to share it with you:

One thing we have been told many times is that their live shows are incredible and kick ass. Vocalist Kacye Haynes also explains about their live shows,  “It’s about more than just music. It’s about bringing the crowd into our world and letting them live in it with us for an hour.” We look forward to catching them out on the road soon. For now, make sure you head over to Itunes and pick up their CD, “The Words Crossed”. I have had it on repeat for a while now since it has a bit of everything  I love, in all songs.

So make sure to check out their social media sites and head over to Facebook and let them know which is your favorite song.  Another favorite of mine is a video that they put together a few years back as a token of appreciation to the troops and all those that serve. The song is “Freedom to Choose” and here is the video:

Sara Skinner

WOW! Amazing voice that just embraces your soul. Truly the work of an angel. That is how I can describe this next artist. I have to tell you about an unbelievable new artist that I am looking forward to seeing at NAMM at the Lampifier Microphone booth next week.  That incredible voice belongs to beautiful and talented, Sara Skinner.

I first heard about Sara and was asked to check out one of her cover songs that she does on her Youtube channel. She actually sings live on her videos but also has her original work.  I didn’t get the chance to watch the covers, then I got asked to watch her video for her release of her original song, “Break”.  After the first second of  hearing her voice, I was just captivated. She has such a smooth voice with mysterious edges that just leave you longing for more. It is funny since she posts her cover songs in hopes of getting viewers to listen to her originals. For me, after watching  “Break”, I sat and watched a dozen or so of her covers just to see if that angelic voice flows through all her music. And guess what, it does. This is one talented artist and I really look forward to hearing more from her.

Here is the video for her song, “Break” that she wrote.

Just as incredible as her vocal talent are her lyrics and music. Sara wrote “Break” which is about her experience of being bullied. Here are the lyrics:

Break written by Sara Skinner

I’m surrounded by liars listening to me like they understand

Why when I turn around are you laughing at me and everything I am?

Everybody is hurting inside but everyone’s too busy to see

And all she’s worried about is bringing me down in her mind,

not concerned with me

This world’s wide open,
but I know that nobody’s there
My heart is broken,
But you what, nobody cares

I am gonna break without you
My heart’s gonna break
I cannot take this without you
My heart’s gonna break

I know you’re tired of the looks people give in a crowd
they’ve chained me up in these thoughts and I can’t break out
I can’t even get by feeling decent inside
confidence is a sin to them I can’t hide
No I’m not gonna hide, anymore.

This world’s wide open,
but I know that nobody’s there
My heart is broken,
But you what, nobody cares
CHORUS
I am gonna break without you
My heart’s gonna break
I cannot take this without you
My heart’s gonna break

You should really head over to her website at www.SaraSkinner.com and you can hear more of her music, check out her Events and even pick up one of her awesome Black Sara Skinner T-shirts. Love the design, have to pick up one! Make sure to listen to another one of my favorite songs by Sara, ‘The Only One” that just Rocks!

So how about I share some of my favorite covers Sara has made, especially “The One that Got Away” by Katy Perry or  ‘Through the Glass” by Stone Sour . Enjoy and make sure to head over to her social network sites to stay up to date on her latest news and music. Let me know which is your favorite song, too.
