Mariachi Muerto

We told you a couple months ago about a great Latin style Rap/Rock, Mariachi Muerto from Corpus Christi, TX. Mariachi Muerto is Ruben A Lopez on Lead Vocals, Mark A Pantoja on Rhythm Guitar, Lee Roy Lerma on Drums, and Roger Vela on Bass. They have released another great video. This time it is for their bad ass song, Defender. Check it out here:

They have once again impressed me with their style of music. They have blends of a POD style but are in no way imitating as they have successfully created a unique style blending rap, rop and nu-metal all still while maintaining a strong Latin flair. This is one band you should keep your eyes on because I am sure you will be hearing a lot more from them.

Also make sure to visit their social media sites and follow/like them. We will see if we can bring you more updates about Mariachi Muerto.

This year Vans Warped Tour had many great bands on several stages. It truly became hard to choose where to go and who to check out. What is great is that we still have another full day of Warped Tour to check out all the bands we did miss. Saturday was the perfect day for Warped Tour, hot but not extremely blazing as it has been in the past. There were lines that went to the back of the parking lot as early as 9:30. Nobody wanted to miss out on catching all the great bands.

There is one band that I have to tell you about. After running around from the main stages to the amphitheatre stages, I found myself at the Hard Rock Kevin Says Stage at 6:30. I was there just in time for the 6:35 start of Icon For Hire which I didn’t know anything about (I know, shame on me, shake your finger at me and tell me that it was very bad that I hadn’t heard of them before!!). The great thing about Warped Tour is that you are exposed to bands you know and many you don’t, you just might end up finding your new favorite band on that day. So as I stood there waiting for their start and take the stage, I was completely ready to find something new to enjoy. Little did I know, I would be faced with my new favorite band and the highlight of the entire day.

Icon For Hire is:

  • Ariel – Vocals
  • Shawn Jump – Guitar
  • Adam Kronshagen – Drums
  • Josh Kincheloe – Bassist

From the second the band made their entrance on stage, I just knew I was the right place to be for an incredible set. The first song they played highlighted Ariel’s rapping skills and she was on spot throughout! Shawn is a madman guitarist and just engages the crowd. He really revs them up and they just feed off his energy. Adam is fierce with his drumming and puts such a rage into his playing, you are drawn to watching him. Josh kills it as he is laying down his deep basslines. Front and center is Ariel who is a Rock Rap Goddess. She has a magnetic personality and maintains a strong connection to the crowd.

Their unique style blends influences from rock, pop, rap, metal, electronic, even some punk. What they have created, is the perfect fusion of these styles that creates depth to their music and raises the intensity. Ariel’s crisp vocals take you through many layers and she can switch from passionate to mysterious or from aggressive to vulnerable at the drop of a hat. This band literally kidnaps you with their music and for that moment, you are under their spell. It is definitely the place to be and you don’t want it to end.

It was fantastic, and right after they finished, I was already comforting myself with the reminder that I get to see them again this Thursday June 26th at the Wheatland date for Warped Tour. If you are heading out to Warped Tour this year, make sure to check the schedules upon your arrival and don’t miss Icon For Hire! You can also head over to their tent and pick up some of the cool Icon For Hire merch and catch the meet and greet.  Here are our photos by Rockin Ryan from their Saturday Warped Tour set:

Here we are at the half way mark for songs mark released  from Ronnie Radke’s Mixtape. Today he released his track no. 1 Asshole featuring Andy Biersack of Black Veil Brides. You can check it out  here:

Today was the perfect day to release Asshole as it has a great intro dealing with all the spin that media put on Ronnie’s past, regardless if they are true or not. It seems that many outlets always rush to report the news in such a negative manner well today was a great day for Ronnie because justice was served! Ronnie appeared in court today to deal with the charges of domestic assault to Sally Watts, (Ronnie’s former girlfriend). We are happy to say that the situation has been resolved and charges HAVE BEEN dropped against Ronnie even though Sally took to twitter to dispute it.

FORREST DAY

Not many bands today can boast of an audience that has interests ranging from ska, funk, jazz, punk, hip hop, rap and so much more. One band that is certain to draw an eclectic crowd who are pure music lovers of all styles of genres is Forrest Day. Forrest Day is our Bay Area treasure of a band but their fanbase has rapidly grown and they have fans from all over the country and even internationally.  One thing is for sure, when you see them perform live, you are instantly hooked. When you listen to their album or hear their songs, you love them but when you see them live, the love affair intensifies, the heat is raised and you are just head over heels in lusty love with their sound. It is truly indescribable.

Forrest Day is going to be heading down to perform at The Viper Room in Hollywood, May 15th at 8 pm. Do whatever you can to get yourself there, because it will definitely be a night to remember. We had the chance to chat with lead singer and the band’s namesake Forrest and are pleased to bring you that interview here:

FORREST DAY recently signed with Breaking Bands LLC, the new management firm directed and founded by the powerhouse team of Testament vocalist and co-manager Chuck Billy, Adrenaline PR CEO Maria Ferrero, and former MegaForce Records and Crazed Management owners Jon and Marsha Zazula. Chuck Billy states, The first time I saw FORREST DAY play live, they were just such a fresh sound to my ears and I thought the frontman Forrest was such a great vocalist with an original style. Coincidentally, I ran into them at Soundwave Studio where Testament rehearses (they happen to rehearse there, too), and it turned out that they were looking for management. The rest is history.”

Maria Ferrero adds, “Working with FORREST DAY is very rewarding for me because FORREST DAY’s music is the epitome of outside the box: unique and inspiring.”  “We love working with FORREST DAY because we’re gluttons for punishment and we’re absolutely in love with Forrest’s mind,” adds Jonny and Marsha Zazula.

Make sure to visit their social media sites so you can stay up to date on their latest news. Also head over to iTunes and be sure to pick up their latest release, The Second.  Check out their upcoming show dates on their website and see if they are coming to a venue near you.

Mariachi Muerto

How about something a little different for your musical tastebuds? How about checking out some Latin style Rap/Rock with the band Mariachi Muerto from Corpus Christi, TX. Mariachi Muerto is Ruben A Lopez on Lead Vocals, Mark A Pantoja on Rhythm Guitar, Lee Roy Lerma on Drums, and Roger Vela on Bass. They released a video for their song, Who We Are and the video was shot and edited by Mando Lujan from “In My Room Productions”. They describe the song as “the song that defines the sound, attitude and platform to which we create musically.” Check it out here:

That is some pretty damn fine rappin and rockin if you ask me! It almost reminded me of Ice Cube blended with nu-metal. I look forward to hearing more new music from Mariachi Muerto. They have an upcoming show on May 9th with Shattered Sun. Check out the flier here:

From Ashes to New

From Ashes to New is a great group of six talented musicians from Pennsylvania. These guys were each known before for playing in bands in their local scene. Unfortunately, many bands are short lived or members change. Then you seem to be left with the truly faithful musicians who live their passion for music in everything that they do. What is even better, is gathering those musicians to form their own band. They not only bring their years of experience but their variety of musical influences.

From Ashes to New is just that, almost a “super group” of sorts. These six guys came together and formed their band and in the short amount of time, are garnering a lot of well deserved attention. They currently have their self titled EP out and available on Itunes here.

EP

Who is Froms Ashes to New? You have Matt Brandyberry and Chris Musser on Vocals, Dan Kecki and  Branden “Boo” Kreider on Guitars, Jon-Mikel Valudes on Drums and Garrett Russell on Bass. Ready to check them out? Watch their recently released video for one of my favorite songs, “Stay This Way” directed by David B. Godin.

They are really damn good as they bring together a variety of musical influences ranging from metal, rap, electronic, rock and much more. I can see these guys moving up very quickly as people are ready for something new. The time is now for music with no boundaries, no limitations, no genre designations. The time is now for From Ashes to New. Their music, not only is engaging but their songs bring a message of positive inspiration and give you the hope to achieve and overcome all life’s obstacles.

Make sure to visit their social media sites since they really enjoy interacting with their fan base and want to get to know them as well.  We will keep you updated and see if we can bring you an interview with these guys soon.
