Our favorite Gothic Punk Rock band Ashestoangels have released another video from their album, Horror Cult. This time it is for their song, Heavy Words and Hollow Bones. Check it out here:

The video really has me excited to see them live! It really gives you a taste of what it would be like to catch their highly energetic sets!  Crilly says, “We spent the summer out on the road and we took along a couple of friends to film it. We tried to put together a video that captures how much fun those shows were. This is one of our favourite songs to play from the new record and I think we’ve made a video that does it justice.” .

If you don’t already have it, be sure to pick up Horror Cult. It is an amazing album from start to finish. Beware, this album will definitely haunt you but in a GOOD WAY! I love it! This is they type of album that you will play from start to finish and find yourself with it on repeat.

Today is the day for the release by Gothic Punk Rock band Ashestoangels of their album, Horror Cult. This album is amazing from start to finish. There is no better day to release this musical gem than Halloween. It is like all the ghosts and spirits are ready to rise from the dead and rock out in appreciation for this music. Beware, this album will definitely haunt you but in a GOOD WAY! I love it! Today they have released another video. This time for their song, Bury Us In Black. Crilly had this to say about the song, Bury Us In Black” is one of the most personal songs on the record; I wrote it at a real low point. When I wrote those words and those chords I didn’t know if anything I ever wrote was going to make it out in a song. But I guess it didn’t matter much, I had to get it on the page. Made me feel better. If anyone can find some kind of solace in my words then I guess it was all worth it. Check out the video here:

The next video to check out is for Run.  About the new video,  “We set out to just make a straight performance video for this song, but when we arrived at the location it just spiraled out of control. Before we knew it we were sharpening sickle and chasing the residents around the farm with an axe. As you do. Maybe we watch too many horror movies…:  .Check out the new video here:

In case you missed the first two videos, check them out below:

The first is Six Six Six and Crilly explains,  “It’s been a while since we’ve released anything new so we knew we had to deliver something intense. The song is like a prelude to the whole album, it’s frantic and energetic and the video is a visual representation of that. We didn’t want to distract with a storyline, just the four of us in a room letting the world know we are back and ready to take this thing to the next level.”  Check out the video here:

The next video is for Still Dead and Crilly had this to say about it, “A big part of what makes us Ashestoangels is the contrasts within our music. Still Dead is like a counterpoint to the heavier moments, a respite from the speed and aggression. Lyrically this song is very important to me and I think the change of pace lets the words take centre stage.” Check it out here:

I am completely loving these tracks and when you pick up the new album, you will be blown away but the rest. They definitely have a complete album with 10 varied songs that give a complete punk rock attitude wrapped in a goth vibe.  It doesn’t isolate itself by being boxed in to a particular genre so you will find a wide variety of fans appreciate this album. Make sure to check out the song, Living Hell which features William Control who also produced the album. Mary Jane Kelly and 666 are a couple of my faves and have the perfect anthemic punk styles and I swear they will have you infected with energy. I love the punk angst vocals in Heavy Words as it unleashes the contained rage! Still Dead brings a great mysterious alternative rock vibe alive and I love the basslines. There is not one track on there that I don’t absolutely love. This is they type of album that you will play from start to finish and find yourself with it on repeat.

What an amazing show that will be especially on the release night of this album. I bet the energy in the venue will be alive with music as well as spirits and ghosts.

Today our music scene contains a never ending list of genres or subgenres but what we really are missing is a rekindling of our love for punk rock and synth. Imagine a young band that brings to life your love of 90’s synth pop music and wraps it deliciously in young spirited punk rock. No need to dream about it, because Pink Slips is the answer to your wishes. The LA based punk rock band, Pink Slips is fronted by 17 year old Grace McKagan. Yes, the name might sound familiar, she is the daughter of Duff McKagan (GUNS N’ ROSES/VELVET REVOLVER/WALKING PAPERS).

In addition to Grace, the band features Keenan Bevens and Trent Peltz and they have recently released their infectiously catchy 6 song EP, Say L’or Venus which is available on iTunes here.  Grace’s vocals remind me of a blend of Debbie Harry, Kim Wilde and modern day Taylor Momsen. She brings out such a fun flirty side to her music. It is charismatic, edgy and invigorating.

The EP starts right off with my favorite song, Googlie Eyes and I love the attitude in this song and it’s fun spirited bounce. You immediately fall in love with Grace’s voice and then you are taken right into Dream Boy which delivers a smitten kitten vibe. You can’t  help but move when you are listening to the EP and even more so when Foxy Feline comes on. Check out the video for it here:

Grace can bring such a maturity and depth of emotion to her voice as she does in the edgy mysterious Cruella song which is another one of my faves. It is such a creative track that has a very Jefferson Airplane – Go Ask Alice vibe. It is swirling with atmosphere and tones that take you on a magical journey. Meet You At the Moon has a catchy chorus and once again Grace displays that flirty attitude in her voice as you can’t help but be drawn to her. The EP wraps up with Bratty Attitude and this is one bad ass track and I love the organic nature of the song. It brings out their youthful vibe and is definitely soon to be an anthem for the young! You are full on with energy and ready to listen to the EP all over again. What is nice about the Pink Slips is, that their music is youthful, yet has the maturity that will also attract 40-somethings who long for new music that delivers the passion of the songs from their own youth.

Quite an impressive EP and I hope you get a chance to pick up this musical gem. It will bring your emotions to life, have you dancing around and feel so alive with energy. I am hoping they will tour in support of the EP because I can only imagine the adrenaline of these three live!

We will see if we can bring you an interview with them soon.  For now, make sure to visit their social media sites and stay up to date on their latest news.

The first time I heard about the Gothic Punk Rock band Ashestoangels from the UK was during my interview with William Control earlier this year. He was telling us about how he had been working with Ashestoangels producing their upcoming album, Horror Cult. I have been excited for it’s release and am pleased to announce that they have released two new music videos for songs from their upcoming album.

The first is Six Six Six and Crilly explains,  “It’s been a while since we’ve released anything new so we knew we had to deliver something intense. Old school punk rock has been given the revived and thriving with the band, Moovalya from Phoenix, Arizona. Moovalya has been delivering solid punk rock music on the Phoenix scene since 2009. This three piece band shows you how much they love to perform as they played as many shows as they could. With that, they brought their energy to the stage and leave everyone wanting to see them again and again.

Moovalya has Benjamin Jones  on Guitar/Vocals, Sean Stroud on Bass/Vocals and Mitch Hosier on Drums. Their sound is a blend of alternative, punk, and rock and there is no denying that their sound is contagious. If you don’t already have it, make sure to pick up their EP Sixer. The songs are complete with punk angst filled energy and fueled with fierce guitars and drums. The vocals are true to fashion punk but yet bring a bit of melodic style to the music which fits perfectly well. Cheated has a great punk anthem vibe and Streetlight Streetlife has a catchy punk patriotic vibe. Hail to the Hearts has some bad ass guitar work and I love the vocals on this one! Check out one of my favorite tracks off the EP, Six Feet Down:

These guys have the passion and the drive to keep punk rock alive. So make sure to pick up their new EP and visit their social media sites so you can stay up to date on all their latest news.
