The legendary Fillmore is filled with wall to wall posters of amazing musicians and Sunday night, the magic and beauty on the stage was created by none other than Gerard Way. Gerard has such a charismatic personality and the crowd went wild from the moment he stepped onto that stage. The band came out in their matching white dress shirts and ties, all sharply dressed and ready to conquer the set. Gerard took the stage in his dapper attire and the entire venue was filled with loud cheers and screams. Everyone was so excited to witness and be part of Gerard‘s first solo tour and he exceeded any and all expectations we might have had. He completely blew everyone away with his performance. He has such an intense passion when he sings that you are just captivated by his magnetic charm.

Gerard’s vocals carry such emotion and it is no wonder that so many fans feel such a connection when he sings. He brings out the complete honesty in his music, which is somewhat lacking in today’s music scene.  Song after song, the crowd sang along and raised the energy to insurmountable levels. What an amazing night that I will not soon forget. We stayed until the last note was played and we were lucky enough to get out in time and be one of the proud recipients of the traditional Fillmore Venue Poster. Check out the poster here:

Aftershock Festival 2014 was a great success. The show went off beautifully. Yes, the heat might have been unbearable and with the drought this year, we had to endure a lot more dust but the music kicked ass from start to finish. This is definitely California’s Number One Music Festival and we are already looking forward to next year. Bay Area band Dig The Kid kicked off the entire festival and Godsmack closed it out on Sunday night. Every single set was awesome and just proves to the naysayers that Rock n Roll is Alive and Well!

So many great bands, interviews and photo galleries coming your way soon. I know many of you can’t wait so how about I give you a quick tease of several of the bands we covered. We are still working, so if you don’t see your favorite band, don’t worry, we may have them in the next batch!

All photos are by our Rockin Ryan which you can follow on his Instagram/RockinRyanSixx as well as :

In case you missed it, we have posted our first interview from Aftershock 2014 and it is with the bad ass rockers, We Are Harlot. They were absolutely amazing and I can’t wait to see more of them. You can check out our coverage on their set here: We Are Harlot at Aftershock.  Stay tuned for more of our Aftershock Coverage.

Well, here we are on the Monday after NAMM 2014. What a great week it was for Musicians. The trade industry convention, NAMM brought in an estimated 100,000 to the Anaheim Convention where dealers, musicians and gear heads could check out the latest and greatest in the music technology and products.

Music Junkie Press was there and it was a wild week. We just got back home tonight and this week will be putting together all of our NAMM coverage, highlights, concert reviews, photographs, and much more. From shows at the Whisky a-Go-Go in Hollywood, to Stevie Wonder jamming out some tunes on a show visitor’s harmonica, to interviewing all kinds of bands; Switchblade Serenade, Farewell My Love, Harlot, Bloody Mary, Emperors and Elephants, Tempting Fate and so many more.  We have a lot to go through but we will have our first batch of write-ups coming to you tomorrow, so stay tuned!! If you were at NAMM, send us your highlights, we just might feature it in our NAMM 2014spotlight.

After every NAMM…. the NAMM-over begins. It starts to hit you right about Sunday morning which is the last day of the convention. You know the inevitable is about to happen as the show comes to a close. You are dreading the end of an unforgettable week where you made contacts, revisited old friends, made new friends and just enjoyed the Disneyland for Musicians: NAMM.  Your sleep deprived body, aching feet and over-stimulated mind is about to erupt on Sunday night. Then Monday morning after a good night’s rest, you can’t even imagine that your feet ever hurt so bad. The pain is gone, the ooh and ahh sighs of musician sightings are a distant memory, it is all fading out.  The only think you have now as you set out on your journey home is a SHITLOAD OF AWESOME MEMORIES that will keep you alive in your NAMM-over as you gaze at the calendar and start counting down to NAMM 2015!
