The highly anticipated new album Golden from rockers Delta Rose is out now! This is one album that is well worth the wait! You can pick up your copy by vi visiting their website: http://www.deltaroseusa.com/. This past year it seemed that many things were said about Rock n Roll, from it being dead, or no new bands, etc. Well you can forget about all that! Rock n Roll is alive and thriving and when you take a listen to the new album from Delta Rose, you will strongly agree with me. They have such a welcoming sound that you just can’t wait to tell all your friends about them.

Earlier this year, Delta Rose had the great honors of opening for Guns n Roses  at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, NV. They delivered a top notch set and have everyone leaving the venue, knowing who Delta Rose is! They always perform a kick ass set and Delta Rose is one of the best live bands out there. They are such a young band but have showmanship that is well beyond their years. While many young bands are out there creating music that sounds as if it is a carbon copy of eachother, Delta Rose is creating their own style of music. It is pure blues and rock n roll and it is addictive.

Check out their song, One Is Too Many which is off their new album, Golden :

To all the people who are crying out for new music and to bring rock and roll back to the forefront, Delta Rose is the answer to your rock and roll prayers. Their new album shows how much this band has grown in 7 years, each one perfecting their own art and have mastered their own style. As I have said before, You can feel the passion in their songs as one message rings true…. These boys are ready to ROCK! Check their site for more details and upcoming show dates. Check out the slide show of photos from Rockin Ryan from their Troubadour set here:

From the studio to the band, there is quite an amazing amount of talent put into this stellar album. The album was recorded at the legendary NRG Studios, mixed by Steve Hardy (Blue October, Vertical Horizon, Joe Bonamassa, and many more), mastered by iconic Howie Weinberg (Nirvana, Ramones, Pantera, and many, many more). The album is produced by Bill Schleifer and Isaac Hasson. It truly is a work of art and we are even treated to Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Dizzy Reed (Guns n Roses) who plays keyboards on their song 10 Long Years.

The album is filled with smoking guitar solos, cool group chants, vibrant blues licks, solid drumming, infectious basslines and the most captivating and edgy yet sweet as honey vocals you will ever hear.  Delta Rose’s new album has definitely polished and perfected true rock and roll.

So pick up your copy and make sure to pick up a few extra copies for all your rocker friends this holiday season. It is time to spread the Delta Rose love. Make sure to visit their social media sites and I will leave you with some of our video interviews with Delta Rose.

We brought you our coverage of Asking Alexandria as they made a stop in San Francisco for The Moving On Tour. Now, we can’t wait to tell you about the opening band out on the tour, The Family Ruin. We have been featuring this amazing rock band from the UK all year long. We brought you our review of their kick ass album, Dearly Departed which was released in September and we couldn’t wait to finally catch them perform live.

One thing is for sure, they delivered an amazing kick ass set at the Regency Ballroom. I love it when a band that I really enjoy listening to can match the same intensity of their music as they do live on stage. This is one band that definitely has no problem conquering that battle. They blew me away and had me eagerly wanting to see them again soon! Check out more photos of their set by our Rockin Ryan:

From the moment they hit the stage and until they walked off to greet fans at their merch booth, they captivated the crowd with their high energy rock. To get to see them perform live my favorites from their album like Let’s Go, Let It Burn, and Bring Out Your Dead. The crowd quickly fell in love with them and you know that many concert goers left with The Family Ruin being their new favorite band!

Check the dates below and see if you will be able to catch The Family Ruin out on tour:

STARKILL from Chicago recently opened for Arch Enemy earlier this week as the tour made a stop in San Francisco. The night was perfect and included awesome sets by Huntress and Kreator. Starkill opened the night with pure adrenaline as they hit the stage. These guys came out and gave 150% and left it all out on that stage. They got the crowd fired up as they played songs from their recently released album,  Virus Of The Mind out on Century Media Records. Check out the photos from our Rockin Ryan of their set:

STARKILL is:

  • Parker Jameson: lead guitar, vocals, keyboards
  • Spencer Weidner: drums
  • Tony Keathley: guitar, backing vocals
  • Shaun Andruchuk: bass guitar

The band recently launched a video for the lead track “Before Hope Fades” as well as a lyric video for the title track, “Virus Of The Mind.”  Check  them both out here:

Make sure to pick up your copy of Virus of The Mind and crank it up loud enough for your neighbors to hear. They will thank you for you introducing them to some bad ass new metal!

SWITCHBLADE-SERENADE-TATTOO

One of our favorite rock bands,  Switchblade Serenade have announced new music for the coming year. They have announced that they will be releasing a new EP and it will have a heavier modern sound. These guys are incredible musicians and I know one thing, they are unstoppable and we can’t wait to hear their new music.  They released the following statement on their Facebook page which tells a bit more of the vision of the band and the evolution of their new sound:

Over the past few months we have had some changing thoughts on what we want Switchblade Serenade to be. Since we started we have been labeled as an “80’s glam/sleaze tribute band etc.”. We never set out to be anything like that. In our earlier years our influence of bands like Motley Crue and Guns N’ Roses was more prominent in our writing style. However we never wanted to be a so called “80’s Band”.

We have been getting tired of being labeled as such and we wanted to let our other influences shine through and finally make us into the band we always wanted to be. With that being said, a lot of you probably know that we have been working on a new EP and the music is far different from anything we’ve ever released. We have been working on these songs everyday for the past few months and we will be going into the studio to officially track these songs in December. This EP will have a heavy/modern sound to it and will be a big change. By heavy we don’t mean genres like Black Metal, Thrash Metal, Etc. It’s still Rock but in a much heavier and modern fashion.

We felt that there was a need to explain everything because our new music and style will be much different from the Switchblade Serenade you may know. Our musical taste are always changing and expanding and they will be explained in this new EP. We will be posting everyday and there will be various updates about our new music. Stay tuned….

saving

Saving Abel are set to release their new album, Blood Stained Revolution on November 11th. The band has launched a digital pre-release of the album that goes live today via Rockbiz. The complete album is available for $5.00 with 10% of gross proceeds going to support veterans.  All purchases from today through midnight November 10 will support charitable organizations working on behalf those who have served. The album is available here: http://shop.rokbiz.com/shop/saving-abel/blood-stained-revolution-entire-album-digital-download.

Saving Abel guitarist Scott Bartlett shares, “We’ve always supported the troops.  They remind us every night on tour that our music has helped them through some of their darkest hours away from home and family.  There is a mutual respect between SA and the military that is very endearing and very real.  If they are going to risk their lives so that we can play rock and roll, we need to remind them as often as we can that we recognize their sacrifice.  Releasing the album on Veteran’s Day is not a coincidence, it was a choice made by the five of us.  We don’t want any credit for it.  We simply want to remind people that our military risk everything for democracy.  Blood Stained Revolution is a guitar heavy rock record that stays true to our southern and American roots.  We are confident that our message of hope through rock and roll will continue to inspire and help people through rough times.”  Founding member and guitarist Jason Null adds, “Some of our most memorable shows were played for our troops. This year was basically ‘back to the drawing board’ for Saving Abel so we missed out on being able to go visit with them. Donating a percentage of these proceeds was just the right thing for us to do.

Saving Abel have consistently supported veterans and the album is being released on Veterans Day. The band has often traveled around the world to play for the troops, sometimes taking them to the most dangerous and remote places.

This new album will be the first to feature the two new members; Scotty Austin and drummer Steven Pulley. Founding member and guitarist, Jason Null had this to say, “Losing or replacing a front man is nothing any band wants to do.  So we decided we wouldn’t replace anyone we would consider this a rebirth for band, an opportunity to write and record the music we’ve always wanted to. Scotty’s attitude and enthusiasm and belief in us along with new drummer Steven Pulley has enabled us to make a change but stay the same. We are all enjoying our fans, travels, and music and for once this feels like a true brotherhood.  We have the tattoos to prove it!”  It will also be the first album to be released on their new label, Tennessippi Whiskey Records.

church

One of my favorite bands of my youth and then became the soundtrack of my life is The Church. The Church have announced the release date of what will become their 25th studio album release. The album, Further/Deeper, will be released in North America on February 3rd 2015.  2015 also marks the 35th anniversary of the band. 35 years of great music amid lineup changes, music formats and so much more. “The magic started on day one,” says singer/bass player Steve Kilbey. “Someone strummed a chord or struck a drum or plucked a note and we were off. We wrote and recorded like demons and it was inspiring to feel every member using all his resources in the service of this record.”

In addition to working on a tour in support of the new album, they have released a video for their song, Pride Before a Fall which is off the new album. Check it out here:

The song features that signature sound of The Church that I have loved and missed so much. I am really excited for the new album. Check out the track listing and cover here:
