Like Moths to Flames is one band that I have been waiting to catch live and last night, they lived up to and exceeded every expectation I had. These guys have such intense passion that shines right through their hardcore music. You can’t stand still as their energy charges the venue and ignites the crowd into a mosh/circle pit frenzy amid the continuous crowd surfing fans.

The Monster Energy Outbreak made a well deserved stop in Sacramento at the Ace of Spades and it was a night full of kick ass music. What was really special about the night was that each band had a great turnout of dedicated fans and you could definitely see that Like Moths to Flames had a really strong fanbase. It seemed that everywhere I turned, I could see fans proudly wearing their  LMTF shirts and merch. It is great to see the fans continuing to support their favorite bands and for getting out to a live show. It was a packed house and another sold out show.

Check out the photos from our Rockin Ryan of their set:

Vans Warped Tour truly brings so many great bands to everyone, some you may know, some you may have heard of but never seen and some you may have never heard of before. The great thing about Warped Tour is the exposure that these bands receive and how they make so many new fans after their performances. Our Warped Tour discovery highlight choice goes to a band that I have never heard of or seen before and when I did, they completely blew me away!  They are One Ok Rock from Japan. I wish I had learned of them sooner because I would have been cranking them out loud for the past several years!

One OK Rock have an aggressively live performance that completely captivates you. Their songs blend rock and metal with some fierce Japanese flair. Their stage presence is one of the best and will take you by surprise if you happen to be walking by the Beatport Stage. That is how we found them and thankfully, we walked by on the first song and stayed for the whole set. Check out the photos by Rockin Ryan of their set:

One OK Rock are set to perform this year at Knotfest in the US in October and Japan in November! They will be releasing their Double A Side single, Mighty Long Fall / Decision on July 30th. Head over to iTunes to pick up some of their music from their extensive catalog.  Check out a video trailer for their documentary:

Visit their social media sites and make sure to check them out. I am glad we found them because they are definitely one of our new favorite bands.

The next great band for us to feature on our Vans Warped Tour Coverage is none other than the melodically heavy, Ice Nine Kills. This was the first time I saw them perform live and I have been looking forward to it. They completely blew my expectations and exceeded them in so many ways. I always knew they deliver a solid energetic set but they really took the reins of the crowd and have everyone fired up. The first day we saw them, they were performing at the first slot of the day on the Monster Stage. Everyone seemed to already know because as the gates opened, the crowd funneled in and went right to the Monster Stage. The singer is a true crowd pleaser as he made it down to the crowd and interacted with them throughout their set.

Ice Nine Kills is:

  • Spencer – Vocals, Screams
  • JD – Guitar, Screams
  • Conor – Drums
  • Justin – Bass

Together these four dominated that stage and the crowd seemed to know every word of their songs. It was awesome to see such crowd participation and how the energy transferred from listener to performer and back again, increasing in intensity as the set went on. Check out the photos by Rockin Ryan of their Warped Tour sets:

They will be performing on the Monsters stage for the entire tour. Check the dates below and make sure to catch them.

We have been sharing with you our highlights of this year’s Vans Warped Tour and of course, we can’t forget the fun and energetic sets of Beebs and Her Money Makers. Their music is a blend of psychedelic ska, sassy funk and soul or as Kevin Lyman called them, Jiggly Pop Comic Rock. One thing is for sure, their sets are sure to please and you can’t help but get on your feet and dance around round for a good time. You may even catch yourself in a circle conga line!
