PushFire (previously known as Beneath The Words) and after lineup changes and a disconnection to the former name, it was time for them to move forward and choose a name each member could be proud to say they were a part of. Hence, the new name, PushFire which brings a fresh new life for this band. They have recently released their new song, Grey which takes you on a musical journey intertwining an ethereal style intro that seamlessly blends to a heavier rock track. It is definitely a well crafted song that highlights the versatility of the band. Check out the song here:

When asked about the song, PushFire explains, “‘Grey‘ is loosely based through the eyes of Kenny Waters, a Massachusetts man wrongly convicted of a murder in the early 1980’s. We always like our songs to have some sort of story behind them . ‘Grey‘ is also one of our favorite songs to play live.

After taking a listen to the song, I am sure you are intrigued to see what PushFire has next in store for all of us. Well, they are currently working on putting together a full length debut album you can help be part of the process. Five Finger Death Punch have always been one of my favorite bands. They are not only a band of great musicians but some of the nicest, caring guys in the industry. They were recently featured as one of our Aftershock Festival Bands of the Day as they will be making stop from their co-headlining tour with Volbeat next month for the festival.

They have recently released their video for Wrong Side of Heaven and are hard at work delivering an important message about the staggering statistics of returning veterans afflicted and living with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Check out the emotionally driven video and truly poignant message here:

The video has surpassed a million views in less than weeks time. One thing is certain, Five Finger Death Punch not only wanted to make everyone aware of the situation, but they are doing more than that by insuring that people join forces to assist these veterans. In tandem with the video’s premiere, the group ignited a special crowd-funding campaign for a jersey entitled 5FDP4VETS “No One Gets Left Behind” on Indiegogo. The campaign’s goal of raising $50,000 was bested by double in less than two day’s time–exceeding $100,000. The campaign continues to run and the proceeds will benefit organizations that joined forces with the group to raise awareness for veterans suffering from PTSD. Fans who pledged will receive a limited-edition jersey created and designed by guitarist ZOLTAN BATHORY. The initial run of shirts ran out, and the band expanded it by 1,000 in order to keep up with the overwhelming demand.  You can visit the campaign page by visiting here: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/5fdp4vets-no-one-gets-left-behind.

In addition, the band launched the webpage www.5fdp4Vets.com. It sheds light on veterans afflicted with PTSD, their struggles, and offers a video call-to-action to fans asking them to send in their fallen loved ones’ dog tags to build a memorial wall commemorating them. This memorial wall will be prominently featured on the band’s upcoming fall arena tour as their backdrop. Once the tour concludes, the proper museum will be sought out to showcase this memorial to the fallen heroes who gave their lives serving our country.

So please make sure to check out the video, share it with your friends and family so we can all become more aware and see how we can help those who have fought for our freedom.  We look forward to seeing the return of Five Finger Death Punch at the Monster Energy Aftershock Festival in September.

They are known for their high energy set that has the crowd complete engaged. Check the upcoming tour dates and see if they will be coming to a venue near you. This is one concert you don’t want to miss.

MESSAGE TO VENUS

Hard Rockers, Message To Venus are ready for the world to hear their new album. They have worked hard to get their new album, Victims & Villians finished and now these determined rockers need your help to insure that everyone will get a chance to hear it. Puerto Rico-native rockers, Message To Venus moved to Florida and have quickly risen to the forefront of the independent music scene. They have turned to the crowdfunding campaign Indiegogo to raise money in order to release and promote the album. Check out their Indiegogo campaign video here:

We had the chance to talk with vocalist and guitarist, Jandre Nadal about the new album and what this album means to them. Check it out here:

* * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Music Junkie Press: Thank you guys for taking the time to talk with us here at Music Junkie Press! We understand you have finished your album Victims & Villains, where did you record the album and whom did you work with?

Jandre: Thanks Music Junkie Press for having us. The new album “Victims & Villains” was recorded at Rezenent Studios in Cupey, Puerto Rico with producer Leo Alvarez. Leo is also the recording, mixing and mastering engineer of the album. He truly is a studio genius.

Music Junkie Press:  Now that it is finished comes the big task of getting it released and promoted. You have teamed up with Indiegogo for a campaign to do that, can you tell us more about that?

Jandre: We have worked with Indiegogo before and it was a success. It was not an easy task though. It took so much work for us to accomplish the goal. And this campaign is also being very difficult to achieve. We are really counting on all our fans and friends for this to happen. To learn more about our Indiegogo and contribute visit: http://HelpM2V.today

Music Junkie Press:  Which song on the album are you most excited for everyone to hear?

Jandre:Hollow” is a great song, so is “Pre-Violence.”

Music Junkie Press:  We know how hard it is to get albums out there and just by what I heard of the album, I want it to get out there too! Instead of selling mangoes which I am sure are delicious, what can we all do to help and make sure Victims & Villains gets distributed and promoted?

Jandre: Got mangos for a dollar! LOL! We have so many perks and new merchandise bundles available. We even have a pre-order for the album for just $10. All we need is for all our friends and fans to contribute and help by sharing our campaign. If you like our music and want to see our long awaited album get out, then help us out! People have no idea the amount of money and time we have spent on this album. It has been so difficult, but so worth it!

Music Junkie Press:  I am sure there is something for everyone’s budget on the perks for the campaign so every bit helps. What can you tell your fans about how much this album means to you all?

Jandre: This album has taken over four years to get done. There were times when we were recording that we would get frustrated and pissed off at the producer or at a musical situation or my vocals would give out or JuanMa would get stuck in a drum part. We had a lot of homework to do. Sometimes when we thought we were ready to record is when we were not ready at all. I even wanted to just quit the band at times. It was very intense! At times I even broke down and cried like a baby. All just part of the process of making something great!

Music Junkie Press:  What was the inspiration behind it?

Jandre: We inspired each other. We only have this band and nothing else. This is all we talk about. This is all we want to do. For Christ’s sake, we moved out of our regular lives to do this. We had good jobs and left it to do this. We still have a lot of work to do, but we will archive this.

Music Junkie Press:  Can you tell everyone what can they expect from this new album?

Jandre: You can expect a very raw sound, meaning organic tone. It’s heavy, dark and lyrically good stories. The drums are so present, guitars to rip your face off, enough bass to make a girl cum and vocals can be melodic yet aggressive. We wanted people to be able to see a movie in their heads when listening to this album.

FV

Last year we told you about a great new band, Figs Vision. Figs Vision is the musical collaboration by Gunner Sixx, son of Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue and Jordan Spoliansky.  You can read more about when they first started as well as interview with Jordan and Gunner  here.  Today, I wanted to give you an update and how Figs Vision is working on creating their first album. In addition, they have added Zig Zag and Storm to complete our band and bring our vision to a tangible place.  As they say, “We are a family and all love each other very god damn much.”

Figs Vision is now ready to record and release their full length album titled, “Dances“. They have started an Indiegogo campaign and you can help be part of the making of the album. You can visit their campaign page and see how your contribution can help fund the album as well as receive some cool merchandise and perks from the band! The album as they mention, “We have pulled together a bundle of our favorite songs that will complete a larger expression of art in the form of an album. We’ve decided to call it “Dances”.  Being fortunate enough to put out this record would mean ultimate satisfaction for our band and our personal lives.  It would be an achievement of the dreams we’ve had every night for as long as we can remember. It would bring meaning to every step of our journeys on this earth.”

As you know we always applaud bands who take the crowd sourcing path in order to fund their album because you truly get the album that the artist wants you to hear.  It is the best way for the artist to express his/her music, market the music they way they would like to see it done, all doing this on the time frame that is most suitable for them.  You can check out their Indiegogo video here:

Now you have to head on over to their Indiegogo campaign page and see which perk you are going to receive for your contribution. Maybe a t-shirt? private concert? your name tattooed? advanced signed CD? or how about at least some good juju. We can all use more of that.

Now that you know about Figs Vision, take a listen to them and fall in love with their music! Here is “New York Home” and “Make It”. Make sure to visit their social media pages so you can stay up to date on their music. Let’s all get ready for some new music and look forward to “Dances“.

TheBraveOnes

As many of you know, I am a big supporter of musicians utilizing the crowd source funding as options to create their music and become their own label.  With sites like Kickstarter, PledgeMusic and IndieGogo they allow the artists to create their album on their own and you can be a part of it with your contribution. Also along with your contribution, you can get some cool perks.

Tonight I want to share with you the IndieGogo campaign of The Brave Ones. The Brave Ones are from Los Angeles and deliver high energy music that is fused with aggressive guitars, compelling vocals and well written melodies.  They remind me of a blend of alternative rock meshed with fun Americana sprinkled with some punk attitude  From the first time I heard their song, Go Get Em Kid and Daybreak Sun, I was hooked!  The Brave Ones is Gene Louis on Vocals/Guitar, Amy Davis on Vocals, Ben Palmer on Guitar, Felipe Rodrigo on Guitar, Taylor Sullivan on Bass and Jay Pinfold on Drums.

TheBraveOnes

Now let’s talk about what they are working on. The Brave Ones are set out to complete their first full length album and they need OUR help to fund the album. They have set up their campaign on Indiegogo and they have some cool perks for your donation. You can get the album, T-shirts, phone call from the band, your own song written about you or even vocalists/Guitarist Gene’s car!  What is also more important, is that with the production of this album, they want to help in the fight against breast cancer by donating a portion of their proceeds to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. They are passionate in their cause since breast cancer did affect band members’ mother. Check out their Indiegogo video here:

So now that you are ready to join in the fight against breast cancer and support The Brave Ones in completing their new album, head over to their Indiegogo page here for all the details.  If you can’t donate, please do your best to share their campaign and video with others so we can see them fully reach their goal.

If you want to hear more from The Brave Ones you can check out their music at their Bandcamp page here and you can download a couple songs! It is time for me now to crank up loud Go Get Em Kid, my fave!!! I will leave you with their video for Go Get Em Kid:
