We are still working on all of Aftershock coverage from last month!! Can you believe it? Well there were soooo many bands and a lot to cover. One of those bands was Halestorm, who is a long time favorite of ours. We have seen them probably about a half dozen times and they never disappoint! I describe Halestorm as my ear porn, it is too good to be true and you almost feel guilty for listening!
At Aftershock, they were inredible, always delivering high energy and have such fierce stage presence! You can check out the photos from their set in this tribute video from Rockin Ryan.
They are currently touring overseas and we can’t wait to catch them when they come around again. Make sure to check out their social media sites and pick up their latest release, “ReAniMate 2.0 The Covers EP.
Halestorm has finally released the long awaited video for “Here’s to Us“. We had been hearing about the release for a couple weeks now but I guess they wanted to keep our anticipation growing. Check out the video which is for their song, “Here’s to Us” which was released last spring on the band’s second album, “The Strange Case of…”
Lzzy Hale explained more about the song to Rolling Stone magazine: “We wrote this song literally as our personal anthem. We’ve been through a lot together as a band, and we’ve learned to celebrate the low times as well as the highs. It’s about toughin’ out and respecting the journey for us, and that’s how we have kept it together as a foursome for 10 years! Here’s to us!”
I swear when I see the thumbnail for the video I can’t help but think that Lzzy Hale reminds me of Tony Montana’s sister from Scarfare!
Also make sure to check out the upcoming tour dates for Halestorm.
Well I am home from my trip to the 5th Revolver Golden Gods Awards which took place last week at the Club Nokia in Los Angeles. I hope all of you had a great time watching the Black Carpet and the award show live on XBOX, Facebook or AXS TV. There was so many great stories to share from that night, some we may have to keep quiet; but all in all it was a fantastic show.
Sadly, hours before the Black Carpet, we got word of the passing of the great Jeff Hanneman from Slayer who died at the young age of 49 from liver failure. Our List could go on and on with the highlights of the night but I thought we would have fun with the above awards.
My last thought for you has to do with respecting each other in the Metal community. David Draiman touched on this during his acceptance speech which he calls for unity amongst us all. I can’t stress that enough. I feel that to boo a band at any time especially when they are accepting an award, is the poorest of taste and disRESPECTFUL. Come on people, we are starting to look like a bunch of 1Direction and Beiber fans who are hating on each other for their musical preferences. I thought we have all grown by now. I lived through the 80’s, 90’s – the Metallica/Megadeth, Stones/Grateful Dead, Van Halen Pre-Hagar/No Hagar, NoDave, With Dave, No Michael,With Michael and it can go on and on.
Seriously, any love for music is a love that has to be respected. I am not on one artist’s side or another, I am just against hate of any type. During the Award show, there was some people sitting next to us who started to cheer for a band, and the person in front of them turned around and started yelling at them, being a complete BULLY! Later the person next to us didn’t cheer at all the rest of the night. Lost their own voice because some intimidated them. It is time to be more open minded and respectful to eachother. We are all in this crazy world together so let’s make the best of it and listen to some music!
It is that time of year again! Spring is in the air and everyone is talking about who is going to win and who will be walking the carpet. No I am not talking about the red carpet and the Oscars! It is time that we show the world that Hard Rock and Metal is here to stay! We all know what the Grammy’s think of Hard Rock when they didn’t even air Halestorm winning and receiving the award for Hard Rock, Heavy Metal Performance. I have seen Halestorm 6 times and they are incredible live. The Oscars used to be fun to watch but I don’t think I have tuned in for about 10 years now. So raise your fists and horns in the air and let’s show them how an award show is done!

Here are some of our videos from last year’s show that we went to.
Marilyn Manson performs with Taylor Momsen.
Slash with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators and special guest Alice Cooper.
It is a great day today! I got my tickets to see one of my favorite bands, Halestorm at one of my favorite venues in San Francisco, Slim’s!! I just found out that Halestorm is returning to the San Francisco Bay Area. I am so glad because I have been trying to see Halestorm live for a few years now. First I was supposed to see them in SoCal and my trip got cancelled then they were coming to the Bay Area last year and that show got cancelled.
The funny thing is that I have had the great opportunity of meeting them several times at other shows. They are an awesome bunch of individuals! The first being when they played with Corey Taylor at his Las Vegas Hard Rock Show in 2010 and then again at his 2011 show. Then they came to San Francisco and I ended up in Las Vegas covering another show!! I was so mad. We got to meet them again at the NAMM 2011 and NAMM 2012 shows and also at the Revolver Golden Gods 2012 Awards. The one thing I have been waiting for so long is to see them all live in concert. Well my wish has come true. They are headlining at Slim’s on November 16th, 2012 and even better two of my other favorite bands are opening for them.
First you have “Eve to Adam” which is a great in your face rock band that I got to see open up for Creed earlier this year. I love them and these guys know how to rock any place. These guys hail from New York City and will bring great rock and roll back to life with this hard rock/metal crowd. They are sure to please with fan favorites like ‘Run Your Mouth” and ‘Reach”. They will have you singing along in no time and will have your adrenaline flowing.
After them, you are hit square in the eyes with the great heavy thrash rock metal band, “In this Moment” . These guys plus the incredible Maria Brink give it to you like you need it; raw and in your face. The fiery vocals of Maria bring out all your deepest energy that comes with a side of deep pounding double bass with some awesome dirty guitar work drenched in some Nine Inch Nails synth work. It is a work of art that will bring your taste buds to life.
Then be prepared to be have your ears treated to the piece de resistance…. Aka Halestorm….. Their music is like ear porn. It is too good to be true, and you almost feel guilty for listening to it! But it is no fantasy… They are the real deal when it comes to satisfying your need for awesome rock and roll with a great metal edge to it. The incredibly hot “Lzzy Hale” lead singer just graced the cover of ‘Revolver” Magazine as the #1 Hottest Chicks in Hard Rock. Well not only is that true, she has the voice that will kick your ass and have you coming back for more. Yes, she delivers it all along with her brother Arejay Hale on drums who is like the energizer bunny that has become a drumming animal and has you wanting more and more!
Then you have Joe Hottinger on guitars who is a shredding madman on the Gibson as well as other axes. Joe is smiling as he delivers the Joe-Tee power! You will fall in love with the Joe Tee Power! Josh Smith brings it all home with providing the incredible bass lines on their songs and backing vocals.
So if you have not gotten your tickets yet, what are you waiting for?? You don’t want to be searching on Craigslist for them do you?? So go here and get your tickets and I will see you there for this incredible concert!
For now I leave you to enjoy Lzzy Hale with the great Corey Taylor and along with Arejay Hale on drums, Christian Martucci on guitar and Jason Christopher on bass which we saw in Las Vegas. Enjoy you StormHeads!!! Also included are photos from some of our meet and greets. Make sure to get their latest album ” The Strange Case of...” It will rock you hard and heavy! Also I have included the video for their latest single, “I Miss the Misery” which I love!!!
