BullyWest, an indie rock band from Oakland may have had to weather a few bumps in the road, but these determined rockers prove that nothing can stand in their way and their need to ROCK! With a sound that blends grunge/rock/alternative/blues/americana and classic rock into their own unique style, they will truly capture your attention. We had the chance to see BullyWest perform at The Phoenix Theater in Petaluma, last Saturday night and they blew us a way. I was bummed to have not heard of them before because it would have insured Music Junkie Press’ presence at their performances!

The band has had to endure through the recent challenge of having thousands of dollars of their gear stolen at a recent show. This in no way, will stop them from forging ahead. Their fans and friends quickly stepped up with support and they held a benefit concert with Iron Heart, Six Gun Saints and other bands performing at Red Hat. They raised some money but still have an upward climb to replace their gear. They have created a GoFundMe campaign and you can check it out here and see how you can help: http://www.gofundme.com/di3a3g.  We had the opportunity to talk with members of the band after their bad ass set at the Phoenix and are pleased to share that with you here:

Their set was really spectacular and had me already thinking about their next show. Manny on guitar and vocals is really mesmerizing, he has a soulful voice that brings back flashbacks of early Chris Cornell. He brings out this great emotion through his songs. Shane on bass is a madman and has a great stage presence, he lays down his bass lines as he is bouncing around his area. Bernt on drums delivered a solid heavy set and you can feel his energy. These guys are great and I can’t wait to catch them again. Check out the photos by our Rockin Ryan of their set:

One of my favorite bands that I told you about in a post back in May  that includes an interview with Phil Goff, has recently released a video for their kick ass song, “All in  My Head” which is from their new EP Beneath the Skin, and you can check it out here:

A Story Beneath is an incredible band from Santa Clarita, California. Phil Goff is on Guitar and Vocals, Toddy Libby on Bass and Keys, and Markus Flick on drums. These three guys come together with driving rhythms, melodic chords blended with some powerful rock reminiscent of Silverchair, early Tool and Incubus but they definitely have a sound of their own.  Once you start listening to them, believe me, you might not stop. I told you about one of my Go To songs which is  “Chamelion”. This song just gets up in me and has me revived in an instant.  You can get their new EP right on CDBaby here.

So make sure to check them on their social media sites and check out their new music. They will take you on a melodic rock ride that will hold you spellbound.  They have created a campaign through GOFUNDME to raise funds to get this album out there. Take a listen to their music and you will be just as excited to be part of their artistic vision and join them in getting this album completed!

Story_3

I have recently been listening a lot to a great band from Santa Clarita, California. I hope you are familiar with them and if not, it is time to get acquainted with A Story Beneath. They currently play one of my new “Go To” Songs, “Chamelion”. This song just gets up in me and has me revived in an instant. Make sure to check it out on their Reverbnation page or on their band profile from Facebook.

A Story Beneath has as a lot of great things ahead for them. They currently are in the Battle of the Bands competition to play the Ernie Ball stage at this year’s Warped Tour. You can vote for them daily here. We need to see these guys on that stage!  Also, they are working on completing their first full length album and you can be a part of the process. They have created a campaign through GOFUNDME to raise funds to get this album out there. Take a listen to their music and you will be just as excited to be part of their artistic vision and join them in getting this album completed!

We had a chance to talk with Phil Goff of  A Story Beneath and are excited to bring that interview to you:
