I love this track as it brings a fresh new life to the 80’s rock that we all fell in love with without feeling dated. It has a killer guitar solo and vocals that just grab your attention and have you fully engaged with full throttle to rock! This is one sweet rock band that definitely proves Rock n Roll is not dead, far from it with these iconic musicians at the helm.

Make sure to visit their social media sites and stay up to date on their latest news. We will see if we can bring you an interview soon too to find out more about Only To Rise and hopefully with the release right around NAMM time, who knows, maybe a show in the works? Fingers crossed!!!

KXM

What started out as a jam session among three friends is now taking the charts by storm. KXM which is comprised of dUg Pinnick  (King’s X), George Lynch (Lynch Mob/Dokken) and Ray Luzier (Korn) released their debut self titled album last week. The album landed at  #31 on the Billboard Top 200 selling over 9800 units this week. In addition, the album also hit #1 in Hard Rock & Metal on Amazon, #6 on the iTunes Top Rock Albums chart, and #7 on the Top Current Rock Albums chart.

Once you take a listen, you will know that it will keep climbing those charts. It truly is a work of art.  DUg Pinnick on bass and vocals, George Lynch on guitar and Ray Luzier on drums. You may think you are dreaming but it is true. These three legendary artists have fused together their own unique styles and have birthed a sound that will definitely last the test of time which can be relatively short these days in the music scene. This powerhouse trio has an album filled with Lynch signature riffs, Ray’s hard hitting energetic drumming, groove filled basslines and passionate vocals by dUg. The album is being released on Rat Pak Records and was produced by KXM and Chris Collier, who is known for his work with Lynch Mob, Lita Ford and Tommy Bolin and more.

The songs on the album are emotionally driven, filled with killer riffs, thundering drums, and captivating vocals. You are immediately drawn into to each song as it paints a picture with it’s notes and tones. Faith is a Room is one of my favorite tracks on the album and it purely rocks! Rescue Me is another fan favorite and has been getting tremendous amount of airplay. The band also shows their softer side with the ballad Never Stop and takes you an a dark tale of domestic violence with their emotional song, Sleep.    “This cd was way more special to us than just 3 seasoned players in a room jamming, I’m so glad that the fans are appreciating this music & are buying the cd,” states Ray Luzier. “We can’t wait to play these tunes live for you! Please spread the word, we’re all keeping rock alive & kickin!!

Now and days many musicians have side projects or are in several bands at the same time. We all remember the time, when side projects could signify a band break up or member replacements but now, it is a welcome change. For many passionate musicians time spent off the road or not recording, can cause them to be a bit stir-crazy. Sometimes you just have to unleash your passion and create the music.  I love finding out about new bands whether they are new to the scene, supergroups or a one-off side project. One new supergroup that have successfully harnessed their passion and created a MUST HAVE album, is KXM. KXM  is comprised of dUg Pinnick (King’s X), George Lynch (Lynch Mob/Dokken) and Ray Luzier (Korn).

These three guys who were first friends and then decided to make music together have created a band that will definitely want you begging for more. After taking a listen to their self titled debut album, I couldn’t help but get excited for a tour and even more music. Whether they all become busy with their other projects, I truly hope KXM will continue on with many, many more albums to come.
