Framing Hanley

Framing Hanley singer Kenneth Nixon states, “It’s an honor to be a part of this SnoCore lineup.  SnoCore is a tour that I grew up always wanting to check out, but Nashville, TN isn’t particularly snowy, so I missed out on a lot of great tours. Fit For Rivals Renee Phoenix adds, “We’re excited to be out with Flyleaf because personally, they’re a band I’ve been listening to since I was younger.  I remember picking up their debut album in 2005 and becoming a fan myself.  We also did a run with Framing Hanley a few years back and it’ll be nice to share the stage with them once again!

FRAMING HANLEY

There was so many great releases this year and one of our faves was the new album by Framing Hanley, The Sum of Who We Are,on their new label Imagen Records. This is Framing Hanley‘s third CD and the first in 4 years. Frontman Nixon explains, “There was definitely a dark period during the 2 years we spent recording this. That’s not to say this album is some dark and brooding album. There are definitely some light-hearted tunes on here as well; some that are fun. This album is the past 2 years of our lives and is every part of our beings…that’s what the title means. This album really is the sum of who we are. The thing that I love most is, I think when the listener puts on those headphones, or puts the cd in the car, he or she is gonna listen and come to find out, hey, me and this guy have got some things in common!

The album is the bands boldest artistic statement to date capturing the essence of innocence and hope, light and darkness, struggle and determination. The Sum Of Who We Are was funded entirely by the band’s loyal fanbase by donating money via a Kickstarter  campaign. “First and foremost, our incredible fans are the reason it’s even possible” states Nixon. “They funded the entire thing on Kickstarter. That is still unbelievable to us. This record from start to finish is everything that we have in us. The ‘sum of who we are’ if you will.”  This new album delivers modern alternative rock with catchy choruses, pop hooks and emotionally driven lyrics that will have you singing along in no time.

We had the opportunity to talk with vocalist Nixon about the album, the music industry today and what they are currently working on. Check out the interview here:

Framing Hanley have several upcoming shows before they head off to the UK. Framing Hanley has been hard at work on their album “The Sum of Who We Are” which was funded entirely by their fanbase via a Kickstarter campaign. The album has taken a bit longer than they had anticipated and due to the delay they are treating their fans to three FREE songs that you can get from their website http://www.framinghanley.com

Vocalist Nixon explains, First and foremost, our incredible fans are the reason it’s even possible. They funded the entire thing on Kickstarter. That is still unbelievable to us. Every band says that they feel like they’re getting better with the years.  So while I feel that’s a trite statement, I can’t deny it. We’ve never written as much material for an album as we did for this one. We had to cut so many songs that we felt were strong.  We also recorded songs for the album that we felt weren’t ‘there’ yet only to go back to the drawing board and get it right.  This record from start to finish will be all that we have in us. The ‘sum of who we are’ if you will.”

Framing Hanley also released a video statement regarding the delay that you can watch here:

So make sure to head over to their website and check out the three FREE songs, Crooked Smiles, No Saving Me, and Walt and the Wolves  which are definitely bad ass songs. The band is currently out on tour in the U.K. in support of The Blackout.

We will continue to keep you updated and try and bring you an interview with the band.
