Here we are coming down to the last week of Vans Warped Tour 2014. What a tour it has been and so many great bands have performed. We featured many awesome artists and tonight we want to bring you our coverage of one of our top highlights of 2014 Warped Tour. Of course, it goes to Falling in Reverse which is no surprise because every time we have seen them perform, they exceed our expectations, continuously raising the bar of entertainment for others. They truly shine when they are on the stage!

I think this must have been the 8th and 9th time seeing them perform in only a couple years and each time was better than the next. This was the first time seeing Max Green play bass in Falling in Reverse and he did a bass ass job. In case you missed it before, check out our interview with Max shortly after he announced he was joining Falling in Reverse:

One of the reasons that Falling in Reverse is so damn fun is because of Mr. Ronnie Radke, who is a true entertainer in all aspects. There is no denying it. This is one guy who really proves that no matter how people try to bring him down, he always rises above it and comes back even twice as strong. I love watching him perform and their set was one of the few that we made sure to catch again on our second day of coverage. All the guys are great but I also must point out that Derek was fierce and he really was rockin out during both sets. He truly stood out and worked the stage.  Check out all our photos by Rockin Ryan of their Northern California Warped Tour sets:

This is the last week of Warped Tour and if you are heading out, make sure to get their early and check what time Falling in Reverse is playing and DON’T MISS THEIR SET!  Also, hope you can join us when we catch them performing with Black Veil Brides on their Halloweekend.

  • October 31st   Tempe, AZ
  • November 1st   Los Angeles, CA

Make sure to visit their social media sites and stay up to date on their latest news.

FALLING-IN-REVERSE-SF-

They did it again! Falling In Reverse  put on another great show on their stop in San Francisco for the Bury the Hatchet tour. Even though we were the second to the last stop of the tour, we were treated to them performing at 150% and their non stop energy set.  I have been to many opening sets for tours as well as closing and it does seem that some bands really trail off when they are down to the last couple days. Almost as if they can taste the freedom and joys of sleeping in their own beds, long showers and days that have yet to be planned.  Well for the boys in Falling in Reverse, they really do show that performing is when they feel most at home because they really come on just as strong as their first show in Los Angeles.  They treated the crowd to an adrenaline filled set where the nearly sold out audience sang along to every word.

It was a great set and Jacky Vincent and Ron Ficarro were on fire with their energy! Of course, Ronnie and  the whole band were awesome but my choice for MVP of the night goes to Jacky Vincent!  You really can’t help but admire his amazing guitarwork on the solos.

This has been a busy week for Falling In Reverse  news. Yesterday they announced their upcoming tour with Escape The Fate. For details on the “Bury The Hatchet Tour” you can read more here.

We just came back from the opening night of the Falling In Reverse tour, “An Evening with Falling in Reverse, Unplugged and Uncensored”. Today was the first night of their 14 show tour and it started off at Slim’s in San Francisco.  It was hard to picture how things were going to go, being an acoustic show and with a band that has such energetic and heavy music. Well, I will tell you honestly, it went SPECTACULAR!

From the second these five guys came out on stage and until the last song, it was absolutely amazing.  The set included some Q&A time in between songs and I had wished fans would have put more thought into some of their questions. There were some  funny questions though which truly brought out all of the best of their personalities and it was nice to see them have so much fun on stage. One of my favorite questions, “What would you do for a Klondike Bar?”

Ronnie Radke is truly in a different place in his life and I absolutely admire him in so many ways. As a 45 year old, I myself have made quite a few mistakes in my time as well as have done things I am not proud of but if I could just have half as much peace as Ronnie does with his past, I would be doing pretty damn good. He truly is a sincere man with a passion for his music and you can’t help but just applaud  him and call him the true Champion.

Their set included many of my favorites, I’m Not a Vampire, SInk or Swim, Bad Girls Club, The Drug in Me is You, Drifter and they even did a spontaneous acoustic version of Champion that was purely magical.  They were all spot on and gave incredible performances. It was great to see them in this intimate environment and the energy from the crowd as well as the band, was overwhelming. You would have thought this was their 14th show, not their first show with how it went so well.

When you looked around the crowd, it was filled with all walks of life. Yes, you might suspect the audience to be filled with only young teenage girls but among that crowd were boys, men, and woman of all ages and they were singing right along to all the songs as we were. It was a very mellifluous and surreal moment.

So, if you have the opportunity get anywhere close to the one of the next 13 shows, I highly recommend it. This is one show that I hope they film for a future DVD/CD release because that would be one LIVE album that I would have to own! Here are some photos from Rockin Ryan from tonight:

This past June we ran a story about Falling in Reverse as they debuted their new album “Fashionably Late” by playing a free show at the Roxy. You can read that post here and how Falling in Reverse proved that their haters were their motivators!

We then had the opportunity to catch Falling in Reverse perform at the Aftershock Festival in Sacramento last month. They put on an amazing show that had everyone in the crowd enjoying them, even if they had never heard of them.  You can check out a tribute video that Rockin Ryan put together which includes photos and footage of their performance here:

FallingInReverse-2013

Falling in Reverse set the Roxy on fire today for their daytime show which was streamed live worldwide. This live stream was presented by Hot Topic and the only way to get into this exclusive show was to pre-order their new CD bundle “Fashionably Late” which was released today, June 18th on Epitaph Records. For those that purchased the package in the Southern California Hot Topic stores were treated to a free all ages show at the Roxy on the Sunset Strip.

We had the opportunity to watch the show and I will let you know…. Falling in Reverse is a force to be reckoned with. This just may be their year and I am very excited for all of them.  This band has had to endure many ups and downs and to see how far they have come after climbing over a mountain of haters they are certainly reigning as “Champions”.  Obviously their haters are their motivators and if they continue to push the bar with their music, they will continue to rise to the top of the charts.

I am not even going to get into all the hate and reasons for it because I just feel that would feed into the bullshit. I am here to talk about music and this is coming from someone who was never really a fan of Falling in Reverse or Ronnie Radke.  So when my son would play them everytime we were out in the car, I had a chance to listen to them and their music with no preconceived notions or judgments. What I did find out is that this album is pure music and a fusion of various genres. You cannot pigeonhole them into any one genre, from “Champion” that highlights Ronnie’s rapping capabilities, to “Drifter” that has a Southern Country feel to “Alone” that brings out some original  Ronnie and then “Born to Lead” where everyone highlights their musical capabilities in the band. They literally bleed out their music and I thoroughly enjoyed it and I now  find myself playing them on my own.

Ronnie even joked with the audience about his past antics as well as the continuous rumors that seem to hound this band. If only people would focus on the music they love and stop trying to bring other people down. Another thing that I have continued to witness has been that countless fans have thanked Falling In Reverse for being part of their lives and saving them from situations in their lives. That is something that no one can take away from Falling in Reverse and they should be applauded for that.

So if you are looking for some new music that will take you on an energetic adrenaline filled ride, make sure to pick up your copy of “Fashionably Late”.   We will be catching up with Falling in Reverse when they come to Sacramento for the Aftershock Festival on September 14th & 15th. Stay tuned for more details and we will try and follow up with a video interview with the band.

~ Crank it up loud, Marisol
