Last week Ace of Spades in Sacramento was definitely the place to be to satisfy your need for ROCK! We got there in time to catch a great set by Force of Habit and then Otherwise came out and rocked the house! Just as we were reeling from our Rock n Roll fix, Buckcherry came out and delivered a full on energy overload set of ROCK! The entire place was fired up and singing along to the crowd favorites as well as their new songs on their EP, FUCK. It was the perfect night to prove that Rock n Roll is not dead and with bands like Buckcherry out there, it will never die.

We had a blast rocking out to all of our favorite songs and one of our highlights was seeing them perform Somebody Fucked With Me. The energy of band was truly matched with the energy of the crowd, with each song it intensified. It is awesome to see a band with a great history, come out and give a 150% every time. Also, the crowd was filled with generations of rock lovers. There were some young rockers as young as 6 and they were rocking out just as hard and heavy as everyone else! Check out the photos from our Rockin Ryan of their set:

Buckcherry recently released a music video for their song, Somebody Fucked With Me and it demonstrates exactly how high energy this band is. It will make you want to see them live and I hope you do! Check out the video here:

It seems like yesterday I was sitting in my parents house spinning my dads old vinyls. His collection was vast and allowed me to immerse myself into the heart of 1970-1980’s rock. I’ve maintained my thirst and level of excitement for that kind of organic sound. Music that seemed to be laid out raw, unedited by energetic free thinking bands.

A local brand new venue hosted Buckcherry this weekend where I caught their show. A stage popped up on the outskirts of Lancaster, Ohio in between Amish country & miles of cornfields. Front man Josh Todd strutted his way to the mic and announced to the crowd that they were about to show us many new uses AND meanings for the word F#ck!

Buckcherry recently released their 6 song EP F#CK (each track creatively uses the F-Bomb keeping the theme throughout). “Say F#ck It” and “Somebody F#cked With Me” were two crowd pleasers on a cold rainy night. They hit the crowd with favorites like “Lit Up” & “Crazy Bitch”. The lighters fans held up in the 80’s have been replaced by cell phones lighter apps. Except at a Buckcherry show…it was all middle fingers in the air “All Night Long.”

My favorite part of the night came as a familiar sound from my past drifted in my ears…the first few bars of AC/DC’s “Big Balls”. It instantly transported me back to 1981 when I got caught for rocking out the ONE vinyl I was banned from spinning…AC/DC’s Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap. Track #2 got my teenage self put on old school “house arrest” for two long weeks. Buckcherry has definitely made the songs they wanted to make without regard to the traditional rules or topics of mainstream rock. They said F#ck the mold playing whatever they want. Who else could transition a cover of “Big Balls” smoothly into “Gluttony”?

Buckcherry have just released their new video for their song, Say Fuck It which is off their recently released EP, which is titled…. FUCK.  You may be wondering about the title but there is much more to the four letter word title. This is a tribute to the word ‘fuck’… Over the years, we’ve been told so many times to get away from the honesty that makes this band special. It’s a part of who I am. It’s not about the profanity itself; it’s about using it cleverly.” – Josh Todd posted on their Facebook page.

 Check out the video here:

This is probably the best cover of Icona Pop’s song, I Love It, done perfectly in Buckcherry fashion!! I love it!! It is true Buckcherry with the signature vocals of Josh, swirling guitars, high energy and rock attitude. I can’t wait for the new album!

We are excited to see that Buckcherry are returning to this year’s Monster Energy Aftershock in Sacramento on September 14th, they will be performing on Sunday at 3:30 on the Monster Stage South. They will also be performing on this year’s lineup for Rockstar Uproar Festival. More details on Uproar Festival here. We just caught them earlier this year when they came to the Heritage Theater in Campbell, CA. You can check out our full coverage of their Campbell, California show here.

In case you missed it, check out our quick chat with Stevie D. at last year’s Aftershock Festival:

FOZZY which is frontman CHRIS JERICHO, guitarists RICH WARD and BILLY GREY, bassist PAUL DILEO and drummer FRANK FONTSERE  is set to release their new single, Lights Go Out on April 29th and is one I really look forward to. “‘LIGHTS GO OUT’ represents a brand new color in the FOZZY spectrum,” says CHRIS JERICHO of the new single. “Dark, sexy, sleek, dirty, heavy and catchy as f*ck, this song turns a whole new page in hard rock history – it doesn’t matter if you dance to it in a club or mosh to it in a pit, ‘LIGHTS GO OUT’ will make you move!

Chris Jericho also announced the date of October 13, 2014 for the release of ‘THE BEST IN THE WORLD: AT WHAT I HAVE NO IDEA,’ CHRIS JERICHO’s third autobiography and the sequel to his New York Times bestsellers ‘A LION’S TALE’ and ‘UNDISPUTED’. You can pre-order the new book by clicking here.

Buckcherry have recently begun their Spring Tour and we were lucky enough to catch them on their 2nd night at the Heritage Theater in Campbell, CA. The Heritage Theater is a historical venue that dates back to 1938 as it was built as the Campbell Union High School Auditorium. It has undergone restoration and renovations and the Heritage Theater is once again live with music and celebration.

Opening for Buckcherry was local bad ass rockers, Spiralarms and British rock sensation The Virginmarys. Both bands were amazing and you can check out our features on both of them.  Buckcherry came out and rocked the house. It was awesome, there was not one person sitting as everyone was up and ready to rock. The energy was high octane and infectious as Buckcherry played a full set with old and new songs, all being fan favorites. You can check out the set list in the following photo. First, I want to tell you about the girl in the photo and give her praise as TRUE ROCK N ROLLER! She was up front and center from the first band to the last. She was rocking out to every song and with all bands. I love to see that passion for music. Here is the set list:

Setlist

Check out the tribute videos that Rockin Ryan put together with footage and photos from the intense rock set at The Heritage Theater.

The Virginmarys are currently out on tour with Buckcherry and we had the chance to catch them on their 2nd night of the tour at the Heritage Theater in Campbell, CA.  They had an amazing year in 2013 with their breakout success of their  debut album King of Conflict through Wind-Up Records.  Their song, Just a Ride has become everyone’s fave and it’s one bad ass track that delivers intense high energy that I LOVE!

Shortly before their performance, we were able to catch up with the guys and are pleased to bring you that interview here:

The Virginmarys played to a sold out crowd at the Heritage Theater and their energy fueled the room. You may have heard that they are an incredible live band and sound just as awesome as their recordings and you know what? They are even better if that is possible! Here is their setlist of the night:

Setlist 3/13

Ally Dickaty on vocals and guitar is fierce as he bounces around and fills the room with emotionally driven lyrics. Matt Rose on bass is a wild man and you can feel the adrenaline that is powering him. Danny Dolan on drums is throwing out some cheeky drum fills as he is maintaining a 150% energy overload. These guys have an energetic stage presence and for being a trio, they have succeeded in creating a big powerful sound that commands your attention.
