Energy:  – noun

  1. intensity or vitality of action or expression; forcefulness
  2. capacity or tendency for intense active; vigor, exertion
  3. Powerman5000

Friday night we headed out to The Boardwalk in Orangevale to catch Powerman5000 and it was a damn good night for music! They had some great opening bands and a killer set by 9Electric. One thing is for sure Powerman5000 = ENERGY. These five guys come out on stage and just bleed energy and feed the crowd with their electronic metal rock. Even with the soundstage technical difficulties they had to deal with, didn’t break this band from delivering an adrenaline filled set. Check out this tribute video that Rockin Ryan made which includes live footage of their set:

In addition to playing fan favorites, they treated us to several of their new songs and really got everyone pumped for the release of their new album, Builders of the Future which is out later this week on May 27th. Check out Rockin Ryan’s photos from their set here:

The crowd went wild for their new track, How To Be  A Human as well as their new song, Invade.Destroy. Repeat. It was great to see the crowd so fueled and fired up. They did away with the typical boring walk off for the encore and instead, came at us heavy with a couple more songs! It was awesome. The night ended with everyone pumped up and singing along to  When Worlds Collide. The set list for the night was:

  • Invade. Destroy. Repeat
  • Supervillain
  • Nobody’s Real
  • Hey, That’s right
  • How To Be A Human
  • You’re Gonna Love It
  • Show Me What You Got
  • We Want It All
  • City of The Dead
  • Horror Show
  • Bombshell
  • Supernova Goes Pop
  • Stars Revolt
  • When Worlds Collide

Friday night was a kick ass night of music at The Boardwalk in Orangevale, CA a bit outside of Sacramento. Powerman5000 was rolling through town and gave a killer set which we will be bringing you full coverage on. But first I must tell you that I finally got to see 9Electric LIVE and it was every bit as awesome as I expected. I had a couple times where I was to go see them and our plans changed so this time I was making sure nothing was getting in our way.

9Electric is an Electronic Hard Rock band from Southern California and they have been known for their energetic and full on adrenaline filled sets. Well, Friday night they were in superb form as they came out and just tore up the crowd with their energy. 9Electric is:

  • Thunderwood – Vocals
  • *Mikey Lopez* – Guitar
  • CaseyDC – Bass
  • Micah Electric – Drums/Programming

Check out a video that Rockin Ryan created with live footage of their set to their song, Filthy:

These four guys have the energy of an army packed in them and are determined to get the crowd on their feet and having a good time which isn’t too hard because their music is absolutely infectious and you can’t stand still. Thunderwood has quite a stage presence that he doesn’t limit to just the stage, as he takes himself as he walks on the bar counters and even propels himself onto the crowd and took his crowd surfing skills to the back of the house insuring everyone was as energized as themselves. Another highlight of their set was when they performed a hellacious cover of AC/DC’s Dirty Deeds. Check out a slideshow of Rockin’ Ryan’s photos from their set:
