Asking Alexandria deliver a fierce set for the Moving On Tour

Last night was a rainy one in San Francisco but inside the Regency Ballroom you found a crowd of even more soaked fans. These fans were drenched in sweat as they had spent the night moshing, crowd surfing and just releasing every ounce of energy. Asking Alexandria was just as fierce on the stage, reciprocating with their own adrenaline filled set that left everyone Breathless! What a fantastic night. As you know, Asking Alexandria are one of our favorite bands and when they perform live, it is as you have been shocked by a defibrillator. You receive the right amount of electric dose of energy to bring you back to life.

The 14 song setlist included songs from all their albums and the crowd went wild for each and every song, whether they were singing along to Moving On, fist pounding to Not The American Average, or intensely moshing to The Prophecy or To The Stage.  What I love about this band, is that each and every one of them has insurmountable stage presence that combined delivers a spectacular set.

I know what will be on my Christmas List this year! The Asking Alexandria LIVE Concert DVD!  Asking Alexandria have announced that they will be releasing LIVE FROM BRIXTON AND BEYOND DVD. The 2 disc Live Concert DVD is set to release on December 15th through Sumerian Records. Their latest single, Moving On is currently at the No. 15 spot on Rock Radio charts and will soon be creeping into the top ten. Asking Alexandria have been busy touring and were on the Rockstar Mayhem Festival. They will continue to be busy as they will be touring in Europe for most of the fall. We are looking forward to new music and hope they announce another US tour. Earlier this year, they made a stop at The Senator Theater in Chico for the Break Down the Walls Tour. KBB Records which is the new label founded by Asking Alexandria guitarist Ben Bruce and co-manager Kyle Borman. The first band they signed was Scare Don’t Fear, which is a band from Providence, RI-based fusion of hip-hop and metal and they are ready to deliver their fresh new sound.

Scare Don’t Fear are spending their summer performing on the Vans Warped Tour. Their new album titled From the Ground Up is set to release on June 17th and will be the first release for KBB Records. The album was produced by Mike Watts [THE CHARIOT, AS CITIES BURN] at his VuDu Studios in Port Jefferson, NY. Don’t forget to pick up the new album and also stop by and say hi to them at Warped Tour!

A Hero To Fall

KBB Records, the new label by Asking Alexandria’s Ben Bruce and Kyle Borman have announced their Battle of Bands finalists. Ben & Kyle received hundreds of submissions and handpicked 25 artists. You can now take a look at the list and vote to chose the 10 bands that will make it on the KBB Records Digital Summer Sampler! One Band will be win a record deal with KBB Records.

What has us really excited here at Music Junkie Press is that one of the bands on the list is our very own local band, A Hero To Fall. They are a post hardcore/ progressive rock band which is comprised of some very hard working members. These guys have the music, the passion and the drive to succeed in the tough music industry.  Check out their song, Disappear here:

Music Junkie Press:  Congratulations on making it to the top 25 Finalists for the KBB Records Battle of the Bands! How was it when you learned you made it to the 25 finalists category?

A Hero To Fall:  We were shocked and excited when we learned that we made he top 25. I clicked on a link to see if our band had made it, and sure enough, our band picture was posted with a button to vote underneath it. There were hundreds of submissions, so it felt amazing to know that we made the cut.

Music Junkie Press:   Tell us about A Hero To Fall and what this record deal would mean for you?

A Hero To Fall:  We have always had a hard time describing our genre and sound because it tends to be more dynamic, but we usually tell people that we are an Alternative/Post-Punk band. This Record deal would be truly amazing, but even if we don’t win, we will still pursue a career in music! We have always sought to make the best music we possibly can and making a living by doing what we love is what we strive for.

Music Junkie Press:  How did you guys form your band?

A Hero To Fall:  Well, we are based out of Santa Rosa, California and we have been together for roughly two years.  Andrew and I (Michael) have been playing guitar together since 8th grade. We actually found our drummer John on craigslist and we totally lucked out because he is an amazing drummer. Finding a bassist was an incredibly long and drawn out process. I can’t even remember how many bassists we went through before finding Maurice ( also on Craigslist), but we are glad we did because he is a great guy and awesome bassist.   We make it a priority to incorporate elements from all of our favorite genres when creating music, that way everyone gets a say and we can create something truly unique. This band is really a group effort and we work together on just about everything.

Music Junkie Press:   Do you have any upcoming shows you would like to share with our audience?

A Hero To Fall:  Yes!!! On May 31st we will be playing with our buddies in Awoken Shadows, and their friends in Cherri Bomb at the Assembly in Sacramento. We will also be playing the following day, June 1st, at the DNA Lounge in San Francisco with the same lineup.

Music Junkie Press:  If you could create your dream lineup, what three bands would you have on the bill with A Hero To Fall?

A Hero To Fall: Ooh that is a tough one! Well I would probably have to just name the members’ favorite bands, so probably Rise Against, Stick To Your Guns, and Bring me The Horizon.

Music Junkie Press: Lastly, is there something you would like to share with our audience?

A Hero To Fall: We would like to say thanks for supporting our music and music in general! Also, thanks to our buddies in Awoken Shadows, they are rad and have helped us out a lot, so check them out! Also, we just finished a full length music video and will be announcing a tour soon, so keep an eye out for that!

The UK bad ass band, The Family Ruin signs to KBB Records

Asking Alexandria’s Ben Bruce has been quite busy with touring as well as running KBB Records with Kyle Borman. Yesterday they had announced the pre-order for their first signed band, Scare Don’t Fear was up and ready to order! Today they are announcing the signing of the UK bad ass band, The Family Ruin to KBB Records.

The Family Ruin have a very fresh new sound complete with hard and heavy riffs blended with infectious harmonies, where they blend their metal and alternative influences with melodic hard rock. There is something for everyone in their sound. Think about a mix of Avenged Sevenfold with Escape the Fate.
