Adelita’s Way

Adelita’s Way founder and vocalist Rick DeJesus offers, “We are very excited to be a part of SnoCore with Flyleaf.  This tour will be the most energetic, and exciting tour that will be out this winter. It will be a show no one should miss.”

Framing Hanley

Framing Hanley singer Kenneth Nixon states, “It’s an honor to be a part of this SnoCore lineup.  SnoCore is a tour that I grew up always wanting to check out, but Nashville, TN isn’t particularly snowy, so I missed out on a lot of great tours. We are absolutely stoked to be hitting the road with Flyleaf, Adelita’s Way, & Fit For Rivals.”

Fit For Rivals

Fit For Rivals Renee Phoenix adds, “We’re excited to be out with Flyleaf because personally, they’re a band I’ve been listening to since I was younger.  I remember picking up their debut album in 2005 and becoming a fan myself.  We also did a run with Framing Hanley a few years back and it’ll be nice to share the stage with them once again!

Crash Midnight may not be a household name YET! Brace yourselves…It’s coming! Their name will be on the tip of your tongue very soon. The band aptly got it’s name in true rock ‘n roll fashion. Front man Shaun Soho got a late night call from his brother Bo telling him he had a great name for a band, Crash Midnight. Followed by him asking for a late night ride since he had just wrecked his car. This five piece band hails from Boston & have been together for 10 years. They are a monster lab creation of combining the sounds of Axl Rose, Mick Jagger, & New York Dolls. A little blues, a little punk, & a LOT of real old school Rock ‘N Roll! I had the pleasure of catching their show at the Newport in Columbus, OH.

The band’s debut album “Lost In The City” is just around the corner with a release date of November 18th. It was pushed back until they are finished touring with Adelita’s Way & The Pretty Reckless. They wanted to be home in Boston for the release party. After meeting these guys I think they would change their wedding date if it meant they would miss a good party! New England has had theses guys hidden & kept all to themselves for many years. They have had years of writing songs and testing them on audiences. This CD may be their debut but, the material has been pre-tested & pre-approved. Instead of this being a cd full of new songs with a couple singles, they are going to struggle with choosing singles. After seeing them live I know that they have 10 years of music ready to rock faces off. These guys came to record with an arsenal of “greatest hits” that have already been tested on fans at every gig they have ever played.

Crash Midnight is already gaining fans with their 1st single “151”. Their early days play included Bacardi 151 & when money was tight Roberto 151. They seem to have traveled time & are a true partying rock & roll band of the late 1970’s. If you are a guitar lover, this band is a dream. “City Girl” offers Alex Donaldson THREE guitar solos. They have finished recording the video to “Take It” in NYC. “Welcome to Boston” has been used by the New England Patriots,The Boston Bruins, & Boston College. They are against the over worked computerized sounds of over edited auto tuned songs. I look forward to the release & am excited to hear “pure rock ‘n roll” again.

Songs are marinated in high yet smooth honey dripping lyrics & supported with sick ripping & shredding. Shaun has a priceless sought after gift of being able to support his high register effortlessly while maintaining a high level of energy on stage. He told me that he had wore out the band Bostons debut album. The late Brad Delps upper register could soar with the likes of Nancy Wilson. They did a cover of G&R’s “Mr. Brownstone” that was amazing. Crash Midnight plays off one another on stage & their energy sucks you in, wanting more.

The band is also very proud of a side project of Tony Pizzo resident guitarists & his baby “TARDUS1”. He has gutted a 1978 motor home & has configured it to run on clean energy. He’s part mad scientist part MacGuyver! He’s buying parts from Home Depot, converting salt water, separating Hydrogen from Oxygen,& end game running off it off hydrogen. Dream & imagination resulting in a mean green touring machine. His work has been backed by fan donations. There is more information about the Green Energy Tour Bus & at CrashMidnight.com

I am a huge 70’s rock fan, love acoustic, & was crushed at the end of the hair band era. I love the no makeup, no auto tune, pure old school rock & roll. Crash Midnight was a huge score to see & they checked off everything on my list that I love about rock music. I was so pumped & excited after their set. They left with me wanting more. I ended up meeting up with Shaun & Alex after the show. At first we tried to talk at their merch table but could barely hear one another. We were determined for us to talk.

I followed them to several locations searching for a quiet spot. We finally found ourselves in a tiny production room that had a computer desk, washer, & dryer. They had announced that Alex was from Columbus earlier. I asked him about growing up in Columbus & he laughed as he told me he went to school with Lil Bow Wow. It turns out that he grew up 2 streets from my house. Small world. Shaun had found a seat on top of the washer. I still have no clue why there is a washer & dryer in the production room. All of a sudden it made noise & startled Shaun. Alex is very quick witted & called him Shaun “Spin Cycle” Soho. Shaun had recently had an allergic reaction to clams(all obvious jokes that were told were sworn into secrecy). Boston is known for their seafood & accents. I was shocked that I had more of an accent than Shaun did. I had such a good time talking to these guys after an absolutely amazing show.

Crash Midnight loves to laugh, party with 151, & have a good time but they are ready to prove themselves worthy on a larger scale. They are starting this album with having a large fan base while quickly securing new fans in each town they crash into. Be sure to grab their debut/greatest hits cd “Lost In The City” on November 18th. This band is about to fill a niche we have been missing since the 90’s. Proof that real rock is NOT dead! The name Crash Midnight might be new on your tongue but their sound will make you thirst for more & more is what they intend to give!

We headed into San Francisco earlier this week for The Pretty Reckless show at The Regency Ballroom. It was the fourth time I have seen them in just a couple years, so what I was really looking forward to; was seeing Adelita’s Way. The first opening band, Falling Through April was great too and I hope you check out our article on them here.  I have been waiting for a while to see them return to the Bay Area and it so happens, that they were the opener for TPR. It was 5 years ago this October, where I first introduced to Adelita’s Way. They were opening for Shinedown and the second they hit the stage, I was completely floored by their killer hard rock! Well, one thing is for sure, Adelita’s Way did it again, they actually exceeded all expectations and delivered a 150% high energetic set that rocked the Regency. This is one band that is well deserving of your full and undivided attention!

Vocalist, Rick DeJesus has such an impressive presence that you are immediately drawn to his infectious energy. The vocals of Rick are powerful and commanding and can bring to life the emotionally driven lyrics with conviction and a large presence. His passion shines through when he sings. He owned that crowd as they played crowd favorites one after another. I truly didn’t want their set to end! Robert Zakarian on guitar was fierce and gave his over the top energy. It was the first time for me to see Andrew Cushing perform with Adelita’s Way and is the perfect. Tre Stafford is a madman on the drums, maintaining his beat while practically juggling his drumsticks! These guys have such a stage presence that completely stole the show.

Check out the photos from their set by our Rockin Ryan:

Adelita’s Way have more upcoming dates and I would strongly urge you to check the list and get yourself to a show. You will be blown away. We are working on bringing an interview with Rick next week, where we talk a lot about the current music scene and how important it is for fans to support live music. Rick has some great points and advice that I hope we all listen to.  Adelita’s Way is pure ROCK n ROLL and it is up to us to keep it alive by going to a show, buying their music, picking up a t-shirt or other merchandise. We can do this together and keep ROCK N ROLL ALIVE!

If you don’t already have it, make sure to pick up their latest release, Stuck which is out on Virgin Records. This album is the much anticipated follow up to their 2011 release of Home School Valedictorian. Stuck was produced by Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Deftones, Evanescence). The first single off the album, Dog on a Leash garnered a lot of attention as it climbed the Active Rock charts. These days hard rock tends to have the genre lines blurred and a spilling over from metal or hardcore which is great if you are looking for that. But when you want a straight up hard rock album with fierce guitars, powerful vocals, anthem rock songs, even throw in a sweet ass ballad, then look no further.

Head over to iTunes and pick up your copy of Stuck. It is from start to finish a great well crafted hard rock album that is deserving of your attention. While you are at it, make sure to pick up the Deluxe Version so you don’t miss out, especially one of my fave tracks, What You Are. Check out the lyric video for their song, Save the World here:

Today, Adelita’s Way release their new album Stuck on Virgin Records. This album is the much anticipated follow up to their 2011 release of Home School Valedictorian. Stuck was produced by Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Deftones, Evanescence). I have been excited for this release because it isn’t often that I have been able to really watch a band grow since first listening to them in 2009 as they were putting together the final touches on their debut self titled album. I knew back then that this would be one band to watch out for and knew we would be hearing a lot from them. The vocals of Rick DeJesus are powerful and commanding and can bring to life the emotionally driven lyrics with conviction and a large presence.

The first single off the album, Dog on a Leash came out and once again garnered a lot of attention as it climbed the Active Rock charts. These days hard rock tends to have the genre lines blurred and a spilling over from metal or hardcore which is great if you are looking for that. But when you want a straight up hard rock album with fierce guitars, powerful vocals, anthem rock songs, even throw in a sweet ass ballad, then look no further. While you are at it, make sure to pick up the Deluxe Version so you don’t miss out, especially one of my fave tracks, What You Are.  Even better is head over to Adelita’s Way Facebook page and check out their coupon code on there to save $2 when you buy the album from Best Buy and you will get a couple bonus tracks! I know you will love it just as much as we do and as one Twitter friend @Cheer4Cowboys says,  “STUCK released today! EPIC tunes that will rock the pictures off your walls!” Now,she knows her ROCK!

Check out the video for their song, Dog on a Leash here:

To celebrate their release, Adelitas Way is hosting an in-store performance at Zia Records in their hometown of Las Vegas on July 31st. Adelita’s Way put on a hell of a show yesterday at Rock on The Range. They definitely have the power to drive an entire festival crazy! They really put on an incredible set and even singer Rick took a ride crowd surfing during their set.

They have also just announced the official date of July 29th for the release date of their new album, StuckTo create the album, the Las Vegas-based quartet joined forces with the Grammy-winning Nick Raskulinecz (Alice in Chains, Foo Fighters, and Queens of the Stone Age) and holed up for eight weeks of nonstop recording in a cabin deep in the woods outside Nashville. Stuck is now available for pre-order on iTunes HERE.  Exclusives bundles are now available for fans on www.adelitaswaymusic.com and include several instant downloads and collectables.

The first single off the album, Dog on a Leash, has been getting a lot of attention. It is a fierce new rock track that definitely shows how much this band has grown and is soon becoming everyone’s favorite new song. You can check outt the song by watching their video for it here:

Earlier today, we received the news via Facebook, that bassist, Derek Johnston is no longer with Adelita’s Way. We have had the pleasure seeing Derek play many times with Adelita’s Way and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors.

Adelita’s Way is currently working working on their new album and we will see if we can get an update on it. They have mentioned that the new album is set for early 2014. Meanwhile, I will leave you with a video from the last time I saw Adelita’s Way which was last year in 2012 in Reno, NV.

If you don’t have it already, pick up their last album, High School Valedictorian from Itunes here.  For now, head over to their social media sites to stay up to date and we will keep you update as well with what Derek will be doing.  Check out their video also for ALIVE which is a bad ass song!
