This new album promises to deliver more of the raunchy, sleazy, Glam Metal/Rock that we love from Steel Panther. With song titles like, Party Like Tomorrows The End Of The World, The Burden of Being Wonderful, Glory Hole and Gang Bang at the Old Folks Home they are definitely going to be in prime form and we can’t wait for the release on April 1, 2014. You can still get your Pre-Order in at Itunes here

Steel Panther has been busy with non stop touring and they were ranked at our Number 2 SPOT for Countdown of 14 Bands That Will Rule in 2014! There is no letting up with these crazy rockers! Some may only know Steel Panther as a parody band personifying the glam/metal lifestyles of the ’80s but you may know that they are DAMN talented musicians.

Michael Starr on Vocals has one of the best vocal ranges and his high notes will have you thinking you are on the Sunset Strip in 1985. Lexxi Foxxx pounds out some slamming bass as he whips his hair and primps in the mirror. Satchel on guitar embodies a true Guitar God, with the moves, stage presence and he KICKS ASS on the guitar. His solo will have you drooling. Stix Zadina is a fierce madman on the drums and is smoldering on his double bass.

Check out the tribute video that Rockin Ryan did to our favorite song, Eyes of a Panther and it includes footage and photos he took from their 2013 shows:

We made it to the #2 Spot and it is time to have some F**KING FUN with our Rock N Roll!! So for #2 I bring you Steel Panther!  2014 is going to be a very big year for Steel Panther. They are set to release their highly anticipated new album, “All You Can Eat“. Steel Panther fans or should I say Fanthers, have been anxiously waiting for new music to follow up their highly successful last album, Balls Out.

Steel Panther has been teasing us all year with talk of their new album and then in October, they finally pleased us all  by releasing their new single/video, Party Like Tomorrows The End Of The World.  It was exactly what we needed to satiate our need for new Steel Panther. Check out the video:

Their video truly highlights the true Steel Panther style, humorous, profane lyrics, politically incorrect innuendos, boobs, drugs, more boobs, and just pure fun. If you take any offense to this, then I would suggest quit reading, this is not the band for you.  But you know what, WE LOVE THEM! In a world where we have to consistently dot our I’s, cross our T’s and hold our tongue, it is nice to let things go and just let loose. Sometimes you just have to not take things seriously and HAVE SOME FUN! Well, we can all do that, even if it is living vicariously through the lyrics of Steel Panther songs.

In 2014, Steel Panther will be busy touring US, Europe…. well let’s just say EVERYWHERE. They are set for Steel Panther World Domination and it is time to join the fun.  Check out the tribute video that Rockin Ryan did to our favorite song, Eyes of a Panther and it includes footage and photos he took from their 2013 shows:

Make sure to visit their social  media sites so you can stay up to date on the album release as well as upcoming tour dates.  Time to pull out your spandex, cut up tee shirts and be prepared to see and hear a lot more of Steel Panther in 2014. Come join the FUN!

Goldbergs

Yes, I know we mostly feature Music on here but I have to share the great news about my new favorite show! The Goldbergs has just been picked up for a full season and you know what, they do play some killer ’80s songs on there so it is music oriented!

The days of the family sitcoms disappeared long ago. Reality TV seemed to take it’s place as well as the 20+ different CSI style shows. I do not have any regular shows I watch or feel compelled to watch on a weekly basis. Growing up in the ’80s family sitcoms were like dinners around a table. You just did it and you did it as a family. Friday and Saturday nights for me were spent with my family watching Love Boat, Fantasy Island and Happy Days and Laverne & Shirley. I loved those times. Well, guess what? The family tradition of watching a television show together, something that we can all enjoy, is back.

We have been watching The Goldbergs together and it is amazing. What is even funnier, is sharing stories with my sons about how The Goldbergs and my family have MANY similarities. Not only the outfits, the music, but other similarities, like (God Bless) my Father would come home and strip down out of his work pants, get his robe and slippers on. On occasion, he would prance around in  his skivvies! Also, our family’s way of showing love was calling each other “Conehead”, “Dipstick” or “Airhead”. It was when the insults weren’t coming that we knew something was up. I always joke how my family put the FUN in DysFUNction but you know, I would never change a thing. Maybe next week, I will share with you my rollerskating stories like the episode that Barry was caught at the RollerRink. Mine was called the Rolladium and EVERY SATURDAY, that is where you could find me for hours!  I loved the ’80s and The Goldbergs take me back to that simpler time. Their is always a lesson to be learned and the show also has some truly tender moments, and I think I have almost shed a tear at every episode.  I am so glad it has been picked up for the whole season!

To really enjoy The Goldbergs, Tuesdays is now our ’80s night at our house. So for tomorrow here is our plan:

Menu:

  • Appetizer of Lipton Onion Soup Mix and Sour Cream served with Ruffles potato chips.
  • Side of Ambrosia Salad or maybe I will do it in a jello mould!
  • Chicken Cordon Bleu or Chicken Kiev.
  • Beverages: for the adults, Wine coolers and for the kids Shirley Temples.
  • Dessert: homemade jello pudding pops

Music Playlist:  I have downloaded my cassettes and CDs to make this playlist for tomorrow:

  • ABC: The Look of Love
  • Pat Benatar: Heartbreaker
  • Jackson Browne: Somebody’s Baby
  • Cars: Drive
  • Dexy’s Midnight Runners: Come on Eileen
  • Eddie Money: The Big Crash, Take Me Home Tonight
  • Electric Light Orchestra: Don’t Bring Me Down
  • Glass Tiger: Someday
  • Sammy Hagar: Your Love is Driving Me Crazy
  • Kajagoogoo: Too Shy
  • Madonna: Crazy For You

So tomorrow night, tune in and have some fun! Pull out your ’80s photos, play some ’80s tunes, make an ’80s style  meal and gather your family around the television and have some fun with The Goldbergs. I will leave you with my photo from the ’80s I believe it was Father/Daughter Dance Freshman Year. circa 1981/1982. Next week I will bring you a new menu, new music and a new pix!

Mike Tramp

This week our Tuesdays Travels pick takes us over to Copenhagen, Denmark to introduce you to a very familiar voice, Mike Tramp. You may know Mike, (honestly… you better know!) from his years with White Lion and Freak of Nature. I loved and still love White Lion. They are definitely one of those ’80s bands that I continue to keep on my regular playlist.

Mike Tramp has an extensive and successful career with his solo work as well. He most recently released Cobblestone Street earlier this year and it is amazing! This album truly takes you on a soulful journey with music through Mike’s life.  He has mentioned that all of his songs have come from just playing the old faithful acoustic guitar and singing.

Mike mentions that this album is what like coming home after a long journey. Mike says, “I am not lost, I am not confused, I am not taking a break. This is the album I have waited a long long time to record, because I didn’t have the guts to do it earlier on. Still, it’s not just a matter of doing an album like this and then returning to the screaming Marshall amplifiers, thundering bass and drums like canons. This is where I am, and this is where I am going to stay as a solo artist, and anytime the urge to play loud rock’n’roll awakes in me, it will be some kind of band project where I am just the singer and part of the package.”

If you take a listen you will completely understand and fall in love with this album. You can pick your copy up on Itunes here. I am hoping Mike comes back soon to do some more shows here since we missed him at his recent Hollywood performance.  Also Mike will be heading out on the Monsters of Rock Cruise “Escape to Monster Island” on March 29, 2014 to Aprl 2, 2014. You can get more details at www.MonstersofRockCruise.com.

Make sure to visit his social media sites. I will leave you with Mike performing “Broken Heart”, the White Lion classic earlier this year.

~Enjoy, Marisol

I remember the first time I ever saw Sebastian Bach. He was with Skid Row (who are we kidding… HE IS SKID ROW, anyway back to the story!!!) and they were the opening act for Aerosmith at the Cow Palace in Daly City (near San Francisco) and it was 1989. I had waited in line since 7 am with about another 100 crazy Aerosmith fans just so we could be up front and on the rail.  It was amazing because as I was front and center ready to watch Aerosmith, I didn’t know that I was about to meet what soon became one of my all time favorite bands…..  Skid Row came out and Sebastian Bach just had everyone on their feet and READY TO ROCK!! The crowd was rushing up front at the first song… Yes, security was even yelling….. GET BACK or should I say…. GET BACH!!!! Ok, seriously it was intense, I knew that this young kid was soon going to take over the rock and roll world.

Fast forward to today and Sebastian Bach continues to KICK ASS with his rock and he has continued to take over the rock and roll world! In addition, he has expanded his singer/songrwriter career to include actor/entertainer . Sebastian has been hard at work on his new album which is set to release in the spring of 2014 through Frontiers Records. This album is going to be amazing and he has some great talent working on this one! He is working with Duff McKagan, John 5 and Steve Stevens as well as Devin Bronson on guitars and Bobby Jarzombek on drums.

Sebastian explains more about this album, “I am happy to say we have completed the drums and most of the bass guitar for the new record. It is a pleasure to write songs with Duff, Steve, Bob, and Devin. The album will be mastered by Tom Baker who has mastered my last three albums. This CD will be balls-out, in-your-face high-energy rock ‘n roll which just so happens to be my favorite style of music. I look forward to releasing the record and playing these songs live for you all in 2014!

Now to get you all excited about some new music from Sebastian Bach,  make sure to check out this video for ‘Big Guns” which is off of his recent Live CD/DVD package ABACHALYPSE NOW and was released last March.

We had the pleasure of watching Sebastian Bach as he was the host of the Revolver Golden Gods Awards earlier this year. We even featured our recipe for “Sebastian Baby Bach Ribs” on our Golden Gods Party Guide and you can check that out here.

Sebastian Baby Bach Ribs

So make sure to head over to Sebastian’s website and pick up your copy of ABACHALYPSE NOW and follow him on his social media sites to stay up to date!
