We have been loving the first song off their new album, Sonic Highways. The song is called Something From Nothing and is really going to grab a hold of you. The song has the perfect build up and takes you from a solemn intro into that fierce intensity of Dave Grohl’s vocals amid some heavy guitars that have you swirling. I love it!!! It screams 70’s classic rock yet with such a Foo Fighters flair. Check it out here:

ESTK

Today our Monster Aftershock Festival Featured Band of the Day goes to Eyes Set To Kill. If you are not familiar with them, first… shame on you! second, let me tell you about this great band. These three have such passion for their music and it shines through each and every song. Their hard rock/metal music has been capturing everyone’s attention for years. They are not a new band, they may be young but you might be surprised to know that they have over a 10 year history. Though they have had many line up changes, I feel that today they shine as a solid band and the founding members, sisters Anissa and Alexia along with long time member Caleb are strong and tight which is displayed when they perform.

They have an incredible stage presence and I can’t wait for everyone at Aftershock to see how bad ass Eyes Set To Kill are.  They have been touring extensively in support of their highly praised album, Masks which was released last year through Century Media Records. This is definitely one of the hardest working bands and I can’t imagine how many miles they have clocked in for touring. They have an extremely dedicated fanbase and with their charismatic personalities, it is no surprise.

Band Members:

  • Alexia- Vocals / Guitars/Keyboards
  • Anissa- Bass
  • Caleb – Drums

Current Music: MASKS – amazing album from start to finish out on Century Media Records and available everywhere

Song to Check Out: Little Liar

Video: Infected

We also had the chance to interview Eyes Set To Kill when they came through San Francisco and made a stop at the DNA Lounge. Check out our interview here:

Eyes Set To Kill are setting off on another leg of their MASKS tour and will feature Powerman 5000, (hed)pe, nonpoint and Relapse Symphony on selected dates. They will also be performing this Saturday, August 2nd at the legendary Whisky a GoGo. Check out their tour dates below:

theory

Today we are back at highlighting the many awesome bands on the lineup for this year’s Monster Energy Aftershock Festival. Our spotlight for today is on one of my personal favorites, Theory of a Deadman. I was glad to see them on the lineup because it has been way too long since my last concert of theirs. They have also just released their new album, Savages on Roadrunner Records. This is the fifth full length album for the Canadian rockers and it is another great one. They have definitely honed in on mastering their craft and taken chances on this album that I think are well taken. I love to see a band evolve into their own style and doing what they want to do and make the music “they” want and this album highlights their great songwriting skills.

Tyler Connolly explains more about this album, “It’s such a different record for us,” he asserts. “I’m known as the guy who writes all of the ‘breakup’ songs. It would have been typical to write more, so I did just the opposite. There’s something very brutal about our culture. I got nightmares from Terminator as a kid and, now, you can watch real murders on YouTube. We’re so desensitized. I went from writing about crazy women to how screwed up we are. That’s the theme. I’d spend twenty hours a day at my home studio. I became a weird recluse, and I even grew a beard. I dug in deeper than ever for these songs. I just said, ‘Fuck it’ and went for it.”

Band Members:

  • Tyler Connolly – Vocals & Guitar
  • Dean Back – Bass
  • David Brenner – Guitar
  • Joe Dandeneau – Drums

Current Music: Savages – new album just released, available here on iTunes

Song to Check OutWorld War Me  and Blow on Savages – personal favorites of mine

Video: Drown – Official Music Video

I am excited to see Theory of a Deadman perform at Aftershock and to play some of their new songs. I am certain they will be a crowd favorite at this year’s festival. If you didn’t get it yet, head over to iTunes  and pick up Savages.

Visit www.AFTERSHOCKConcert.com/Ticketswww.Ticketmaster.com and at all Ticketmaster outlets to pick up your tickets.

VIP tickets include: a VIP entrance to venue; access to VIP lounge area featuring dedicated bar, beverage and food service; viewing of main stage (seated and standing areas); seated area with shade for dining and private restroom facilities; a VIP commemorative guest laminate, and more. As in the past, ticket discounts will also be available for active military through AFTERSHOCK partner GovX. For full details about all tickets, military ticket discounts, hotel and VIP packages, visit www.AFTERSHOCKConcert.com.
