Aftershock Festival truly was filled with so many great bands but one set that really stood out was the performance by Black Label Society. It is hard at festivals since you could have several bands playing at the same time but Black Label Society dominated the crowd. Their crowd was filled with both, longtime and new Berzerkers of all ages. Nothing stopped the dedicated fans as they braved the intense 100+ temps to bear witness to the shredding madness of Zakk and his crew. The set was stellar and the fans went wild, begging for more. If one thing I wanted, was a longer set since I could have watched them all day long! Check out the photos by our Rockin Ryan of the set:

If you weren’t able to make it to Aftershock, don’t worry, Black Label Society have been quite busy on some heavy duty touring and it will start again in October. Check the dates and make sure to not miss them if they are coming to a venue even remotely near you. It is definitely not a show to miss and you will leave feeling invigorated and ready to conquer whatever stands in your way. You can also catch Zakk Wylde on the Experience Hendrix Tour!

UK rockers, Heaven’s Basement have released their music video for their straight up Rock track, Lights Out In London.  The song is off their highly acclaimed Filthy Empire album which is out on Red Bull Records. The song is one of my favorites as it really highlights how these four talented musicians know how to kick ass and bring the life back in to Rock n Roll. They have had quite a year with extensive touring and we can’t wait for them to return to California. Check out their new video here:

Their song Be Somebody was announced as the theme song for the 2014 Red Bull Air Race. Guitarist Sid Glover even took to the skies for a test flight with one of the pilots. It looks like a lot of fun.

Black Label Society have debuted a new music for their bad ass song, Angel of Mercy. Directed by long time collaborator, Justin Reich of The Antimatter Studio, the video depicts a stripped down version of the wall of sound that is widely associated with the band. The band performed the single recently on Late Night with Seth Myers. which is the first time they performed on national television. Check out the stellar video here:

The band will embark on a stretch of headlining tour dates across the U.S. starting on July 17th in Cincinnati before eventually wrapping up at the Sunshine Theater in Albuquerque on August 4th. Wovenwar and Kyng have been tapped to support, click here for all tour dates. Black Label Society has also been announced on the first annual KNOTFEST with Slipknot, Five Finger Death Punch and Volbeat.

We are excited also because Black Label Society will be performing at this year’s Monster Energy Aftershock in September! If you have never seen them perform, do what you can to get yourself to a show. It is an awesome experience that you don’t want to miss. We recently caught BLS when they came to San Francisco for the Revolver Golden Gods Tour and had two great opening bands, Devil You Know and Butcher Babies.

What a night! This past Friday, the place to be was at the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco for the Revolver Golden Gods Tour. There was a line around the block as everyone came out in full force to catch Black Label Society perform. Also make sure to check out our coverage of the amazing two opening bands, Devil You Know and Butcher Babies. I think it was a sold out show or nearly sold out since earlier that day they had only a 100 or so tickets left. It was packed from front to back, left to right and the entire upstairs was filled with no empty seats.

Black Label Society came out and were behind a full stage curtain, and then the lights went up and the curtain came down. Our photographer Rockin Ryan was in the photo pit and got wildly tangled in the rope but he made it out just in time to catch Zakk take center stage!  The crowd went WYLDE as they started with  My Dying Time. There was a full on mosh pit that seemed to last the entire set. The light show they had for the set was remarkable and truly created the perfect setting for the metal take over of Black Label Society.

Check out the photos by our Rockin Ryan of the set here:

Everyone was in awe when Zakk would take his solo, you could hear the crowd roar and it was just spellbinding. When he plays his guitar and makes it look so easy, it is spine tingling and hair raising metal. Fierce as can be, that is what Black Label Society delivered to San Francisco and when they were finished, the floor was filled with the drool of the audience! They gave a night that many would never forget. This was the third time seeing them perform and each time, when I think it can’t be topped, they raise the bar even higher and exceed all my expectations.  The tour came to end on Saturday night at the Fonda Theater in Los Angeles and I can only imagine what they had in store for that crowd.

We are very excited to see that Black Label Society will be returning this fall to perform at this year’s Monster Energy Aftershock Festival. We will be sure to bring you complete coverage. Make sure to pick up your tickets and join us for another bad ass show! I will leave you with a commercial that Rockin Ryan made for the Valhalla Java Coffee which is awesome.

2013 was a KICK ASS year for UK rockers, Heaven’s Basement and 2014 is proving to be another spectacular year for them as they are in high demand.  They recently returned to the UK for their “Welcome Home” Headlining tour and had to cancel several dates on the tour due to mandated vocal rest for vocalist Aaron Buchanan. They are set to return back to the US for this year’s Rock on The Range and Rocklahom festivals and more. Check out upcoming tour dates here:

In other Heaven’s Basement news,  guitarist Sid Glover is up for the Metal Hammer“Dimebag Darrell Shredder” Golden God award.  Metal Hammer‘s awards are June 16. We featured Sid Glover on our 12 Days of Guitarists this past year. You can read more here

Their album, “Filthy Empire” which is out on Red Bull Records is full of hits and is one of those albums that you listen to from start to finish with no fillers. “I Am Electric” has recently become my Go To song to get amped/pumped up and then of course the rockin song “Heartbreaking Son of a Bitch”. Another highlight of the album is the bluesy rock song of “Lights Out in London”.  This album really is a great treasure and you will soon have it on replay in no time.   You can pick up your copy on Itunes,  Amazon, and their online store.
