New Politics are out on another headlining tour which will take them across the country. Sunday night they made a stop in San Francisco and performed at the legendary Fillmore. It was great to see them headline at the Fillmore when only a few years ago, they were there opening for The Dirty Heads. From the first time, we saw New Politics open for The Spill Canvas at Slim’s in 2010. They blew us away as we dubbed them “Energizer Bunny Meets Nirvana”.
They put on one of the most energetic, engaging sets that you don’t ever want to miss. Once again at the Fillmore, they exceeded all of our expectations and delivered a top notch set. Check out a sneak peek of photos from our Rockin Ryan of their set:
Their set included old and new songs which had the crowd brimming with excitement. It was great to hear the crowd singing along to their new song, Everywhere I Go (Kings and Queens) which will be featured on their upcoming new album, VIkings set for a release in February 2015 on DCD2/Warner Bros records. They even brought the house down as they performed a cover of Beastie Boys Sabotage. What a night it was and I truly am proud to see how far these young men have come. They are definitely one of the hardest working bands out there and it is no surprise to see their fast rise to the top. They deserve it!

Saving Abel are set to release their new album, Blood Stained Revolution on November 11th. The band has launched a digital pre-release of the album that goes live today via Rockbiz. The complete album is available for $5.00 with 10% of gross proceeds going to support veterans. All purchases from today through midnight November 10 will support charitable organizations working on behalf those who have served. The album is available here: http://shop.rokbiz.com/shop/saving-abel/blood-stained-revolution-entire-album-digital-download.
Saving Abel guitarist Scott Bartlett shares, “We’ve always supported the troops. They remind us every night on tour that our music has helped them through some of their darkest hours away from home and family. There is a mutual respect between SA and the military that is very endearing and very real. If they are going to risk their lives so that we can play rock and roll, we need to remind them as often as we can that we recognize their sacrifice. Releasing the album on Veteran’s Day is not a coincidence, it was a choice made by the five of us. We don’t want any credit for it. We simply want to remind people that our military risk everything for democracy. Blood Stained Revolution is a guitar heavy rock record that stays true to our southern and American roots. We are confident that our message of hope through rock and roll will continue to inspire and help people through rough times.” Founding member and guitarist Jason Null adds, “Some of our most memorable shows were played for our troops. This year was basically ‘back to the drawing board’ for Saving Abel so we missed out on being able to go visit with them. Donating a percentage of these proceeds was just the right thing for us to do.”
Saving Abel have consistently supported veterans and the album is being released on Veterans Day. The band has often traveled around the world to play for the troops, sometimes taking them to the most dangerous and remote places.
This new album will be the first to feature the two new members; Scotty Austin and drummer Steven Pulley. Founding member and guitarist, Jason Null had this to say, “Losing or replacing a front man is nothing any band wants to do. So we decided we wouldn’t replace anyone we would consider this a rebirth for band, an opportunity to write and record the music we’ve always wanted to. Scotty’s attitude and enthusiasm and belief in us along with new drummer Steven Pulley has enabled us to make a change but stay the same. We are all enjoying our fans, travels, and music and for once this feels like a true brotherhood. We have the tattoos to prove it!” It will also be the first album to be released on their new label, Tennessippi Whiskey Records.

Their refreshing sound will become true music to your ears as they jump start your love of all music. The crowd went wild at the Fillmore and even more so when they performed their hit, Reverse which is a love story gone wrong – written chronologically backwards. “I don’t think anyone’s ever written a song backwards before,” Jordy explains about writing Reverse. “It was the first song we wrote together as a band, the night we met; that was the song we wrote and we didn’t even know each other. We met in the bar writing that song. It kind of set the tone for us. Before we even thought of putting out a single or doing anything…that was our song.” Each member stands out on the stage with their magnetic personalities exhibiting captivating stage presence. For an opening band, you could not have asked for anything more as they really pumped up the crowd and started the night off right. We had the chance to interview them before their set and are going to be bringing that to you later this week. Check out the photos from our Rockin Ryan of their set:

Denver heavy thrashers Havok have been busy touring overseas which took them all over Europe. They are gearing up for their North American “Symmetry in Black” Tour featuring HAVOK w/ CROWBAR, REVOCATION, FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY, ARMED FOR APOCALYPSE. Drummer Pete Webber will be sitting out select dates of the tour due to a family emergency and Wretched’s Marshall Wieczorek will be filling in temporarily.
Pete comments: “As some of you may have heard, my mother was in a tragic accident and is in very serious condition in the ICU in Boston. This unfortunately means I will have to miss out on at least a portion of our future shows. I must be by mom and family’s side during these difficult times…Our pal Marshall from WRETCHED will be filling in on my duties. He is a good friend of ours and a great drummer! I know he will do an awesome job in my absence! I hope everyone understands and keeps my mom in their positive thoughts and prayers. It helps in a big way to have the support! I will return as soon as I can to my bros in HAVOK and wish them all the best on this next run!“
We send our wishes for a full recovery for Pete’s mom and we will keep her in our thoughts and prayers. We know that everyone will welcome Marshall as he fills in on the dates and we look forward to Pete’s return.
After the Symmetry In Black Tour, you can expect to find Havok heading right back out. This time for their headlining tour in Mexico, the Until The Thrash Takes Us Tour. David Sanchez (lead vocals / guitars) comments: “Earlier this year was our first trip to Mexico and we liked it so much we’re coming back again this fall!
