We caught Crobot when they made a stop in San Francisco at the DNA Lounge. Check out our interview with them from their last visit to SF.

In addition to their new tour dates they have released their new album, Something Supernatural  through Wind Up Records. They once again worked with the producer Machine (Clutch, Lamb of God, Cobra Starship, Gym Class Heroes) at his Machine Shop studios, whom also worked with them on their self titled EP.

I hope you get a chance to see them perform live. These guys have such a refreshing new sound infused with a Dirty Groove Rock. They are like no other band out there today. Crobot is bringing the life back into classic rock/ stoner rock  with a double dose of groove in a modern style. Think like Zep ala Soundgarden with a side of Wolfmother. Pick up their new album and get hooked on your new favorite band!

Here is  a tribute video that Rockin Ryan put together with footage of their San Francisco set:

This past weekend I was so glad to make it down to San Francisco for the Alter Bridge show at The Warfield. I have been counting the days and especially because the bill was complete with three bad ass bands! In addition to Like A Storm, we were ecstatic to finally catch a live set of California Breed, the latest project of legendary Glenn Hughes and the young extremely talented guitarist Andrew Watt. We weren’t able to catch the bad ass drumming of newly announced (live performance) drummer, ex Queens of the Stone Age/ Eagles of Death Metal Joey Castillo as he was committed to another show date but none the less, it was fantastic! The music that the three created was a larger than life sound that is a must to see live. The intensity and passion that each bring to the stage is mesmerizing.

Glenn’s vocals literally gave me chills. He has one of those voices that can sing a page out of the phonebook and have it sound as sweet as molasses. Powerful and captivating set is exactly what California Breed delivers on stage. Check out the photos by our Rockin Ryan of their SF set:

The tour just wrapped up on Sunday night at The Wiltern in Los Angeles and I am already missing them! If you don’t already have it, do yourself a huge favor and pick up their self titled debut album on iTunes here. It is filled with amazing vocals, pulsating bass lines, fierce guitar riffs and catchy hooks. It will take you back to your love and longing for classic rock wrapped in an adrenaline filled vibe. I will leave you the video for their first single off the album, “Sweet Tea”.  Sweet Tea definitely kicks ass as it brings to life the big ’70s sounds of rock that we miss! Glenn’s vocals just take you on a ride and it has some killer guitar work on it. You can check out the video here:

I will begin my countdown until I can see them again! Make sure to visit their social media sites so you can stay up to date on their latest news.

who

I can still remember a vivid memory of the first time I listened to The Who. I was a young kid in the 1970’s and I could hear the wailing guitar and fierce vocals of The Who coming from my older brother’s room. I was drawn to it as I got closer and closer to get more of my fix of my craving for Rock n Roll. My older sisters were busy playing the latest disco tunes and practicing their dance moves but that was no match to the fire that The Who ignited in me. I loved the raw intensity of their music and how it’s organic sound just spoke to me, a rebellious young child who refused to be my sister’s dance partner any more. I wanted….. ROCK N ROLL and The Who were there to welcome me with open arms!

The Who are turning 50 years old and their music still grabs me every time I hear it, whether it be catching My Generation, or reminiscing as I listen to songs from Tommy, or signing loudly to Won’t Get Fooled Again or I Can’t Explain, or even getting deep and profound with Behind Blue Eyes, they have been the music which became the soundtrack to my life, for my ups and my downs and through the good times and band. Whatever your mood, there is a Who song to speak to you!  I am so excited to announce that they will be heading out on a 50th Anniversary Tour in 2015.

THE WHO, one of rock’s most legendary and defining bands, will celebrate their 50-year legacy when they bring their “THE WHO HITS 50!” tour to North America in 2015.  “THE WHO HITS 50!” tour will kick off its spring run April 15 in Tampa, FL and include 20 stops throughout the east before wrapping May 30 in Forest Hills, NY.  The fall legwill launch September 14 in San Diego, CA and begin with west coast dates throughout the U.S. and across Canada before concluding November 4 in Philadelphia, PA.  Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, October 17 at 10:00 AM (local time) at www.thewho.com.  “THE WHO HITS 50!” tour is being presented by AEG Live.

The show–described by PETE TOWNSHEND as–“Hits, Picks, Mixes and Misses” will see the band play all their classic anthems as well as tackling deeper cuts from their catalog.

This is the beginning of the long goodbye,” says ROGER DALTREY of the upcoming tour.

PETE TOWNSHEND commented, “Trying to stay young. Not wearing socks. Growing a great big Woodcutter’s beard. Might even wear a check shirt on stage and get a tattoo of a Union Jack. Always a fashion victim. But under no illusions. We are what we are, and extremely good at it, but we’re lucky to be alive and still touring.”

So make sure to check the dates below and I hope they will be coming to a city near you in 2015!

ozonemama

I recently told you about how I fell in love with a new band from Budapest, Ozone Mama. You can read more about that here. Ozone Mama has released a music vide for their song, I Really Care. Check it out here:

This band hailing from Budapest, Hungary and they have given a fresh new facelift to the classic rock of the 60’s and 70’s. They bring out a heavier vibe and an absolutely addictive sound. I can’t get enough of them. The gritty vocals of Marton are so infectious and sultry. He brings out such a nostalgia for 70s classic rock. The guitars are sexy and dirty and have that raw edge that the Golden Era of Classic Rock would maintain.

Band Members:

  • Marton Szekely – vocals, tambourine
  • Andras Gabor – guitars, background vocals
  • Vivien Tiszai – drums
  •  Gergely Dobos – bass

Are you ready for more Ozone Mama? Check out their music video or their song, Go  which is off their latest EP, Freedom.

You can pick up their EP Freedom on iTunes here as well as their debut album The Starship Has Landed from 2012. Make sure to check out and visit their social media sites and stay up to date on their latest news. I am hoping they make a tour to the US soon!

ozonemama

I am in love, yes, a deep and dirty love. Time for to scream it from the mountaintop! Ok, no need to worry my husband, my new love is a band from Budapest, Ozone Mama and allow me to introduce you to my new flame. First, I can’t take any credit for this find, this was all the wonderful doings of my good friend, Sharon R. Frantz of Sharon R. Frantz’s World of Music. We have become online friends who share a true love and passion for music. Sharon sent me a video of Ozone Mama as they played their song, Red Hot Lovin in Budapest Park.
